Salou Holidays

Fun in the sun on the Costa Dorada

Heading on a summer escape to the Costa Dorada? Fly direct to Reus instead of Barcelona and cut down the transfer time between the airport and your hotel. With flights to Reus from Luton, Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, and Bristol between April and October, it’s now even easier to holiday on the Costa Dorada.

Once a base for both the Greeks and the Romans, the ancient port of Salou on the Costa Dorada is now one of Spain’s prettiest getaways. Located south of Barcelona on the beautiful Catalan Golden Coast, Salou holidays attract both Spanish and international travellers thanks to pristine beaches, clean water and lots to do. On holidays to Salou you will find all the facilities you need for a great resort holiday – from arcades and paintballing to windsurfing and boat trips, plus theme parks, golf and plenty of water sports.

The town is a lively place that will suit couples, families and groups of friends. Local restaurants serve up plenty of paella and other traditional local dishes, but also global cuisine, while clubs and bars keep the nights buzzing. Salou’s long, spacious, sandy beaches include the popular Llevant, Llenguadets and Passeig Jaume I, plus there are lots of smaller coves to explore and the Salou Promenade to walk along.

And if thrills and spills are what you seek, you’ll find them at PortAventura World – a huge leisure resort comprised of Caribe Aquatic Park, Ferrari Land, and the iconic rides of PortAventura Park. At the theme park alone there are six worlds and 40 attractions to discover, more than enough to keep the whole family entertained for days on end.

Your Salou questions, answered

Very. Relaxed beaches and theme parks cater to all ages, so a family trip to Salou is a great way to experience the Costa Dorada.
It’s a resort town, so not comparable to a remote destination with fewer facilities, but prices in Salou aren’t excessive at all and holidays here are very affordable.
Within arm's reach! Lots of hotels in Salou are within easy walking distance of the impressive parks of PortAventura World. The park is open year-round, too, so don't worry if you're visiting during the low season, you'll still be able to get your rollercoaster fix. The park does close earlier during those cooler, winter months, and Caribe Aquatic Park is shuttered between September and May, but there's still plenty to do, especially if you visit around one of their themed events such as Halloween, Christmas, or Carnival.
Yes, you’re in luck. While it’s not always guaranteed in Spain, Salou boasts several wide, pristine, sandy stretches of waterfront for swimming and sunbathing, with palm trees to boot.
