A seaside stay with clifftop views
Take in all the sun, sand and sea sparkle of the island's south-east coast at the light and bright Alua Calas De Mallorca. Perched on cliffs overlooking the ocean, this hotel gives you spectacular sea views at every turn and a spot that's right by the sandy strands of Cala Domingos and Cala Antena.
From the hotel's four fabulous pools you can drink in salt-water panoramas while enjoying a fresh-water soak. The main pool is a gleaming free-form number and there's also a large rectangular lap pool for those who want to work on their stroke. The kids have their own two shallow pools to splash about in and the whole waterside complex is surrounded by a spacious sun terrace and manicured lawns augmented by palms, greenery and well-spaced loungers. There's a poolside snack bar to keep you refreshed and fed without interrupting your sunbathing and bean bags and coffee tables invite you to lounge in the shade should the sunshine get too much. Please note that the indoor pool is open depending on weather conditions.
If you feel like upping the tempo, there's an air conditioned gym although the daytime events programme of team games and sports will also keep you active. Main meals can be enjoyed either al fresco or inside looking out of floor-to-ceiling windows, meaning you can see the sea no matter where you dine. Before retiring to your light-filled accommodation, watch a live performance or grab a nightcap at the Lobby Bar.
