"Found the hotel easy. By getting a taxi. When we got out from the taxi, we were at the hotel which was convenient for us. We booked for 7 nights.
Reception
Checked in. Paid the local tax. Not sure but it was around 25 quid if you are from the UK.
The man who checked us in was somewhat sombre. No welcoming smiley face here. Just got on with it. And it was our first night. We don't know what Czech people are like yet. He called a man out who would have taken up our one case and as we didn't yet understand the currency and we are independent we politely said we were ok. I did see this man around the hotel many times and he is a good man.
Lifts/Elevators -
We were on floor 4. 2 lifts were there for our side of the hotel. You swipe your room cards to operate the lifts. You don't need to swipe when you're going down. That's what she said. On our penultimate day, my card stopped working on the lifts. The LED display would say 'card locked'. The card still worked on the room door. Would have reported it but we had 2 keys between us. Although I did have to wait a couple of minutes for someone else to use the lift so I could get out of it.
Location -
Not bad. I would have liked to have been a little closer to town but the 12 minute or so walk wasn't that bad. There is a shop next door if you want water, soda, chocolate, gifts and on the other side next door was a sandwich shop which was good. Plenty of food nearby including a nice beef kebab/kebap place, a McDonalds to the right which is a 2 minute walk away. Restaurants and shops and a Lidl all very nearby.

Staff -
We just got on with our days and didn't have much staff interaction. But what we did have was fine.
Food -
One evening pasta was ordered and taken back to room. Was tasty but slightly undercooked so a little tough/hard.
Breakfast -
The usual. Most decent hotels have it all covered and they did here too.
Hot stuff - bacon which was overcooked but I liked it to be fair, sausages that were like tough skinned hot dog type and they were ok, baked beans, mushrooms, scrambled egg which i did not like. Many different breads and i mean many. The choice was good and of course a toaster.
cheeses and ham and salami and also some cold cuts with a knife so you could get yourself some cold meat. Was impressed that they had a nice large piece of blue cheese which i went for every morning. Quick Coffee machine. I had cappucino - 4 most mornings. Different teas. Sweet pastries. Yogurts. Fresh fruit which was good. Apples, oranges, kiwi, bananas, etc. Good. Salads. and an omelette station. Mcds just down the road so if you wanted a sossie and egg Mcmuffin instead, it was convenient for that. I think brek was from 07:30 t0 10:30 and finished at 11 on Sundays.
Toilets - reception toilets were lovely and kept very clean.
Lobby -
Very good. A bar. Very clean. Tables to have your drinks at and some very comfy seats with charging ports on them using the two pin Euro plugs.
Room -
A good size. Bathroom was nice and had space there. Could have done with a shower mat or at least a mat on floor at side of bath as was slippy on the floor but we obviously used the small towels provided.
The shower wasn't great. Once we had found a knack it was ok but it's not straightforward and has been mentioned on other reviews. Not a big issue. It's easy to operate. You just had to have it a lower height than normal.
Was a mini bar. Items in a fridge. Didn't use any but we did take some out and used the fridge space we had cleverly created for our own waters and choc.
TV wasn't great channelwise but it did have Netflix and YouTube on it and we logged into our own accounts so that was great.
Beds are really comfy. Yes! Recommended. Had the usual light display at night when trying to turn the lights off. You turn one off, another comes on. Was like a puzzle but happens to me at most hotels. Safe in the room and an iron and board. And aircon all with no extra charge. Liked the room a lot. Room 408. Overlooked the street.
River -
You can walk to it by sort of heading straight ahead when you leave the hotel. It will be a street to either side but you can get there that way. I would guess that most people don't go that way and find the riverside once in town.
Hotel Grandior -
Would we stay here again? Yes. Very happy with this hotel. A smooth week long stay with no concerns. That's exactly what you want. I have nothing bad to say about it. All good."
