It definitely can be! Making travel accessible and affordable for all has allowed more people to experience the joy of tourism. However, it’s important to be mindful of the impact of increased tourism on local communities. It depends on where you’re jetting off to! 

For example, if you fancy seeing the Northern Lights, you’d  typically fly to parts of Iceland. But did you know Tromsø in Norway is a prime location for spotting the Aurora Borealis? However, if lounging on a beach is more your thing, then consider somewhere like Djerba, just off the coast of Tunisia.

Jetting off on alternative holidays doesn’t mean you should sacrifice everything you like about getting away in the first place. It just means taking a look at those different holiday destinations that are perhaps not talked about as much.
