Holidays that don’t cost the earth

Nothing beats the excitement of touching down somewhere special. And if you’re on the hunt to find out how we’re building genuinely sustainable easyJet holidays that give a lot more than they take, then you’ve landed in the right place. So step this way for our vision, mission, and overall approach to sustainability...

Come With Us

We’re on a journey to make sustainable travel accessible to everyone, without passing the cost on to you, or costing the earth. And, while we’ve already announced our commitment to offset 100% of the carbon emissions associated with the fuel from your flights, transfers and the energy from hotel stays, that’s just the start. We’re hard at work building close relationships with the people and communities that make all our destinations so special - so we can build holidays that are packed with positive impact and give much more than they take. Want to know more? Then take a peep.

A world where travel makes a positive impact on the environment and local communities.

Our Mission

When it comes to sustainability we want to raise the bar, positively shake things up and lead the industry. To make sustainability part of our everyday culture, enabling us, our partners, and you to reduce your footprint, and make a positive impact on the people and places that make our destinations so special.

Transform travel for everyone
By embedding sustainability into everything we do   and pioneering meaningful change in our industry.
This also means building sustainability into the very fabric of our business culture and all our decisions. Because if we can get that right then we can really influence our industry to move forward.

Carbon Offsetting

We’re proud to be the first major UK tour operator to offset the carbon emissions from our package holidays. That’s the fuel used for flights, transfers, as well as the energy used for hotel stays – all without passing the cost onto you. And not only are all our current and future package holidays carbon offset, better still, we’re retrospectively offsetting the emissions for all holidays operated since we launched in November 2019. To find out more on this including exactly how we calculate the holiday emissions, read easyJet holidays becomes the first major tour operator to offset carbon emissions from its package holidays

easyJet got the ball rolling in November 2019, becoming the world’s first major airline to offset the carbon emissions from the fuel used on all its flights. easyJet has been committed to reducing carbon emissions and efficient flying for a while now. And because we know carbon offsetting isn’t the final answer, the airline is hard at work behind the scenes - pioneering the all-electric, hybrid and hydrogen propulsion systems we all need to achieve zero-emission flying in the future.

Across both easyJet holidays and easyJet our carbon offsetting projects are certified to two of the highest global standards, Gold Standard and VCS. Want to know more? Then check this out.

Our Partnerships and Certifications

The Travel Foundation brings together different players in the travel industry to develop the practical solutions needed to maximise the benefits and minimise the negative impacts of tourism in everyone’s holiday destinations. Which is why we’re partnering with the Travel Foundation to shape our approach from the ground up.
ABTA offers advice and guidance to the travel industry on high service standards, health and safety, and promoting responsible tourism – making them the perfect partner to help us on our journey towards a Travelife for Tour Operators certification – an internationally recognised sustainability initiative.
The GSTC is a global membership organisation, formed to manage global standards for sustainable travel and tourism, the GSTC Criteria, and to foster increased knowledge and understanding of sustainable tourism practices through the adoption of universal sustainable tourism principles. So we’re proud to be a GSTC member and to work together to help enable our hotel partners to achieve GSTC-recognised certification.
The University of Oxford is world-famous for excellence and home to some of the most talented people from across the globe. Their work helps the lives of millions, solving real-world problems through a huge network of partnerships and collaborations. That's why we've partnered with the University of Oxford to establish the Oxford SDG (sustainable development goals) Impact Lab. We'll work together to identify challenges and opportunities for sustainable tourism linked to the UN's SDG's. This will help easyJet holidays pursue its aim to be an industry leader in sustainable tourism that has a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
The green leaf motif shows hotels which are eco-certified and have a Global Sustainable Tourism Council certification or have achieved GSTC recognised standards for hotels. This means the accommodation complies with the highest social and environmental standards on the market, through the highest assurance level that exists. We are encouraging our hotels to be certified by the end of 2025 and working with them to understand the benefits of becoming certified. Read more about GSTC criteria.
