"I wouldn’t personally rate this as a 4-star hotel – I’d say it’s closer to a 3-star.
The location is definitely one of the hotel’s biggest positives. It’s within easy walking distance of the beach and strip and access to the theme parks, which made getting around really easy.
The rooms were very basic but did the job. As with any hotels you can sometimes hear people in the halls but we couldn’t hear anyone either side of our rooms.
The entertainment was also fairly basic and didn’t offer much variety during our stay.
The food was okay overall. There were themed nights, which added a bit of variety, but the children’s lunch and dinner options were very repetitive. Most days it was some variation of pizza, chips and hot dogs, so it would have been nice to see a wider selection for kids and signage was inconsisent ie sign said margarita pizza but was actually a tuna pizza. Breakfast was probably a highlight as lots of different pastries, continental breakfast, fruits, cereal etc.
The splash park could also do with a really good clean. It doesn’t look anything like the photos and feels quite tired compared to what we expected. Some of the water features were a bit weak.
One of our biggest frustrations was requesting a travel cot. We’d asked for one in advance but arrived to find there wasn’t one in our room. We then had to ask reception four separate times, with each visit ending in “we’ll call housekeeping.” It took around four hours before a cot finally arrived. Each time the staff seemed to lack basic communication. I do appreciate that english may not be first language. When i asked for a travel cot the first time i had to use variations such as baby bed, baby cot, travel cot as they thought I was asking for more towels.
My son was also sick during the first week there (unsure if this was caused by the fooe) and my husband approached reception which again we had to wait a bit of time for someone to come to the room with fresh bedding. My husband had to go back down to ask how long and the man on reception looked annoyed at the question. When someone did come she gave us what she could. She could not give us a cover for over the bed and said there wasn’t any but yet the next morning we seen the cleaners changing over rooms with fresh sets. Unsure why a hotel of this size would say they didn’t have any covers but it meant my husband just slept on top of a sheet. The housekeeper was lovely and asked immediately if our son was okay!
We were also disappointed with the character meet information. The notice board showed that Elmo would be appearing on Sunday, so our sons were really excited to meet him. After waiting and him not appearing and another character appearing instead, we asked at reception and were told, “Did you come on Friday?” We advised we didn’t as had went by the notice board. Apparently the schedule had changed, but the information board had never been updated. It was disappointing, especially for the children who had been looking forward to meeting him.
Overall, the hotel was okay for the location, but there were several areas that need improving. Better communication, more attention to cleanliness, and more consistency with family facilities would make a big difference.
Another thing to note that the lift broke down at least 4 times whilst we were there. The last time it was off for a few days which meant there was only one operational lift for 7 floors worth of guests. (There was a service lift but it wasnt publicly opened up to be used)"
