"We enjoyed our week here with the family, the hotel is in a quiet location , beach is about a 20min walk away where there are shops and restaurants. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff , we were quickly shown to our room, The room was very clean and beds were comfy, however they are very small, tiny bathroom and shower over the bath with a shower curtain. The basin was actually in the bedroom which seems strange. The balcony very small too and only one chair! Wardrobe space is minimal and no drawers whatsoever, these rooms could do with a little TLC The lift to the upper floors was in my opinion a bit dodgy, stopped at any floor it liked and did not register the correct floor. The food was very nice and mostly hot, not lots to choose but adequate ,plates were sometimes dirty which isn’t good when they are stacked for people to use , dining room is small but I liked that as it was not too overwhelming, all staff were friendly and helpful. Bar staff were great too, quick service , had to pay €1 for your reusable tumbler . I would prefer proper glasses during the evening for my drinks although I understand plastic is safer. Entertainment was always on along with bingo, no where to sit in the evening other than outside terrace or bar area, it was always very busy. Would have been good to sit in a separate lounge sometimes The pool area was ok , 2 swimming pools and an outside snack bar which was good. Not enough sunbeds . Bit of a rush in the mornings and if you weren’t there for 9am it was a struggle to get one and although it says not to reserve them by leaving towels on however lots did which is annoying. Not enough sun brollies and most of ones they had were broken , The adult only rooftop with 2 hotubs was a nice peaceful place to relax . Children were running up and down our corridor and banging on the guests bedrooms doors late at night, not good when you are trying to get to sleep, there are signs stating children must not do this but obviously Their parents weren’t aware . The hotel itself was clean, staff friendly, room service everyday and we have enjoyed our visit , just small niggles . Not too sure I would return"

"Overall experience at the Villamarina was very average to say the least. Rooms were very dated & small although this was partly our fault as we had booked a standard room. The photos on the Jet2 website don’t show the older dated rooms so much as the new bigger family rooms. We had asked to have a bed looked at as it was needing fixed but after asking 2 times it wasn’t done & we just didn’t try again. Cleaners were great rooms were cleaned daily & the place was always kept spotless couldn’t fault them atal. The food was of a decent standard we couldn’t really fault this at all. Entertainment was good too & the staff doing it were great very interactive for all ages. Location was a small bit out from the main areas of Salou but more than accessible by walking or taxi. The downfall is mainly going to be the rooms & unfortunately some of the people staying really don’t help, it’s pretty much non stop partying, banging, shouting. It’s like the hotel that never sleeps. After a week here we are all exhausted due to a lack of sleep as the walls & door have absolutely no sound proofing therefore you hear absolutely everything, we had the miss fortune of some nightmare neighbours partying till stupid o’clock, hotel did try help with this but it just wasn’t enough. The all inclusive wasn’t exactly all inclusive either as we found simple things like water was only accessible if you paid for bottles or if you wanted to drink it from the draught at the bar. They also have a 1 Euro plastic cup rule that should you forget the cup you need to pay another Euro to get a drink witch is understandable but when your at the pool exc you don’t want to be running back to your room to grab last nights cups just to be getting a cold drink. Overall we wouldn’t find our selves in a rush to book back here as we’ve found Salou to have much better options for hotels. We fully understand it’s a budget hotel & you get what you pay for."

"Location is not great. Our family was happy to walk the 25 mins to the beach front however our friends not as fit and spent a lot on taxi’s back and forth. Room size is extremely small, dates and not the cleanest. Hotel is very dated. Pools are small. Snack bar has hot dogs, burgers and nuggets, burgers are horrible and the hot dog buns were mouldy - the whole bag. The main restaurant food is poor, a very small selection of miss matched food, breakfast selection was the best and this was minimal choice. We went as a group and although our friends room was slightly bigger this was still extremely small for the amount of people allocated to them. All include however we ate out for every meal as the selection and quality was very poor. Positive for the hotel is that they have plenty of activities running through the day for the kids and evening entertainment was okay, The children enjoyed the entertainment. Would not book again. Was not happy with the experience. Was very disappointing and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff at the bar and entertainment are very friendly. Reception staff not so much. First time we have been on holiday and wanted the holiday to end. Very happy to leave and return home. Have booked another holiday as this was very disappointing."
