Red Hotel Marrakech

Toeing the line between two of downtown Marrakech’s more cosmopolitan neighbourhoods – Gueliz and Hivernage – the Red Hotel is a great spot to base yourself for exploring this iconic city. The Medina is a 15-minute taxi journey from the hotel, but there’s plenty of culture to soak up in the surrounding area, too.

This part of the city is known as the French Quarter, and some of the best museums and art galleries in Marrakech can be found here, from the Yves Saint Laurent Museum with its line-up of contemporary art exhibitions to the Museum of African Contemporary Art which showcases pieces from Morocco and its surrounding countries.

Back at the hotel you can take full advantage of the on-site spa to relax after a day spent seeing the sights. Will you take some time to unwind in the hammam or opt for an indulgent massage? During your stay you’ll also have access to the facilities at neighbouring Opera Plaza Hotel, which include an outdoor pool fringed with sun loungers, and even a bowling alley where you can try for a strike.

The buffet restaurant will keep you well-fed with its selection of tasty international eats, which you can enjoy al fresco on the terrace. In the surrounding streets, meanwhile, you’ll find everything from your favourite fast-food places to restaurants serving up authentic Moroccan eats.
