Granada holidays

Dazzling Moorish heritage

Discover the jewel in the Andalusian crown on a holiday to Granada City. Dating back to prehistoric times, when native tribes called it home, there’s plenty of history to uncover. With such a tumultuous past, it’s no surprise the city is bursting with mosques, Arab fortresses and Gothic churches.

Your Granada City questions, answered

The spring and autumn offer the most comfortable temperatures. July and August can be very hot. The winter, while mild, can have occasional frosts.
It's all about tapas, which come free with a drink. Broad beans with ham, squid cooked in ink or spicy bravas potatoes.
Granada is nice and compact so it's a great city to explore on foot. There's also very affordable public buses and bike rentals.

Best things to do in Granada City

Visit the Alhambra

A trip to Granada isn’t complete without a visit to the Alhambra, the 13th century Arab palace complex including the stunning summer palace Generalife.

Watch a flamenco show

The beautiful district of Sacromonte, home to traditional gipsy caves, is the perfect spot to catch a flamenco show.

Walk around Albayzín

Just north from Plaza Nueva is the UNESCO-listed Arab quarter. This tangle of alleys and coloured tiles is where the Moorish settled after Granada's reconquest.
