"I’m extremely annoyed with my stay here, and I want people to know what actually happens with their so-called “room service.”
The hotel clearly advertises room service until 9:30pm on the “room service” menu in the room , plus a handful supposedly available 24 hours. Sounds great — until you try to actually order anything.
I called at 9:00pm, well within the advertised hours, and was casually told “the kitchen is closed.” No explanation, no apology, nothing. I complained because the menu clearly says room service is available until 9:30pm. The waitress said they would “check with the kitchen.” and call me right back. Nobody called back.
Twenty minutes later, I rang again. This time they said they could take my order — but only if I collected it myself, because they had “no staff” for room service. I was told that “the staff are all going on break”. When I suggested that I wait until the staff finish their breaks, her reply was “well no because he is going for 30 minutes”. Mind blowing!!! So now “all of the staff is just a “he”?
So which is it?
Kitchen closed? Kitchen open? No staff? I’ve never heard so many contradictory excuses in such a short time.
The bottom line is: the hotel advertises room service they clearly can’t actually provide. If you can’t staff it, don’t print it. Don’t put it in the room. Don’t pretend it exists. It’s misleading and incredibly frustrating not to mention completely unprofessional. I arrived late to the hotel, after travelling for 4 and a half hours to get there and this is the last thing I needed.
This was honestly one of the most irritating and unprofessional experiences I’ve had in a hotel, and I stay in hotels every single week. If you’re expecting reliable room service (or any form of room service at that), don’t stay here. What was more infuriating than the lack of an advertised service, was the two waitresses I spoke to.
Any bad reviews of this hotel all seem to have something in common….the staff. Every time customer service responds to a review, they say this does not meet our usual standards but it sounds like this IS the standard of this hotel. They also say they will pass concerns onto management who clearly have not done anything about it.
I will be eating out for the rest of my stay, not giving this hotel any more money. Absolutely disgraceful!!!
The only plus, the receptionist was delighted. He was very welcoming."
