"I’ll try and be as honest and objective as possible. Some of the reviews are a little misleading and appear to be to bump up the reviews. I appreciate the massage may have been good, but it does look bad when you see the volume of positives!!! Please stop doing this, it detracts from the great hotel this is and can be misleading.
However, we loved it here. We are a family of four, 2 x daughters aged 14 & 16. We may have been lucky as we arrived a week before the school holidays and it did start to fill up after day 6. We were looking for a relaxing location, right in the beach. This delivers. We have stayed at a few various larger all inclusive resorts in Turkey, Kos and Tenerife and this is by far the best. Do not expect the huge places in Turkey with huge volumes of restaurants and bars, with world class entertainment. This a smaller more personal resort and just what we were looking for. There appears to be two blocks, we were in the main block that houses reception with the refurbed rooms. We had 2 rooms which was a huge bonus. Rooms were immaculate with a Nespresso-type machine, fridge and safe. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The supplied robes could do with being replaced though, a little worn. Towels are provided. We looked over the back of the hotel which doesn’t have a view apart from toward Protaras and fields. However it was quiet and certainly caused us no issues. Good sized rooms, good shower. Really comfortable beds albeit soft, but that is just a preference thing. The doors are real heavy duty and rooms are well insulated so we heard little from the corridors or other rooms.
The buffet was small, however a decent amount of choice and excellent quality. Like a said, don’t expect those huge buffets as they don’t have the volume of residents to warrant it. More than sufficient and couldn’t fault it. Drinks were all spot on. Genuinely the staff couldn’t be more helpful, I put a drink down and was being offered another. Whilst we had no need for high chairs, we were amazed to see how well they were cleaned down and then wrapped in cling film for the next person. It was these little things that made the real difference. We were there for a couple of England games and staff were all on hand to serve us, even reminding us that the all inclusive finished at 2300 so we would need to pay, I think it was €3.40 for a pint, and it was served in a glass which we have never experienced at other all inclusive.
The snacks at the pool bar were great and good quality. Pool is nice, albeit not the biggest but never overcrowded.
The beach is beautiful and ideal for families. It is shallow, calm and pure sand. Ideal for younger ones. You do have to pay for the beds directly on the beach as they are owned by the municipality, however it is about 20 paces from the grassed are owned by the hotel with beds and shades. Never had an issue getting a bed for the 4 of us together. Beach towels are supplied and can be changed daily.
The entertainment is basic, but again it serves its purpose. This is smaller hotel. It is €2 for an adult and €1 for a child to get the bus from directly outside the hotel into Protaras or Ayia Napa. Not far. Catch the 102 bus out, and the 101 back. There isn’t really anything g around the hotel to explore, the costal path is a nice walk in an evening and you could walk to Protaras if you really wanted to.
The gym is not UK standard, but one of the better ones we have used abroad. More than enough to get a decent workout. My wife did have a massage in the Spa and she really enjoyed it and it was well priced.
We did a boat trip out from the harbour next door to swim with turtles, now they can’t guarantee wild animals will be there bust everyone I spoke to managed to see them. Some even at the beach at the hotel!
Don’t be put off by it being a wedding venue as well as a family hotel, they are not intrusive and very well managed by the staff. The only downside here is that they can’t account for some of the guests who were rowdy but this could happen anywhere and is not a reflection on the hotel and the experience they provide.
We used an offsite laundry service for some small bits as it was significantly cheaper, reception were happy to hand it over and I left the money with them to pay when it was dropped off.
I’ve read a few comments about cats. Every resort we have been to have these as it is environmentally friendly pest control. They are not intrusive and all appear well cared for.
All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Reception were brilliant, as were the cleaners. All of the bar staff and waiters were great and I wish I noted more names. But I have to congratulate the mâitre d, Stelios, who was the most pleasant man and remembered my name from day 1. What a lovely, genuine guy. Also one of the evening bar staff, Khem, who kept the drinks flowing and I didn’t even have to ask. There clearly isn’t a huge budget, but the entertainment staff try so hard and were brilliant. Big thanks and well done to the 3 girls Diana, Elizabeth and Katya. They never stopped smiling and putting the effort in despite some challenging residents. All of the staff were great, but the ones I have mentioned do deserve to be singled out.
Loved it here. Just what we needed. Don’t expect a huge extravagant resort, this is a much more personal, enjoyable, pleasant experience. Anyone who compares 4/5 star UK hotels to European holiday resorts ratings really needs their head read. Do not expect the Ritz, you won’t get that anywhere in Europe unless you pay £15,000 and I have seen resorts that costs that. This is a great place and congratulations to everyone involved."
