This is a small book... 😂
Apex is my favourite Hotel in Glasgow. Experiences with staff have always been exceptional. Aware the staff are doing there job but also want to give acknowledgement to how amazing the staff are even before checking in (booked Friday into Saturday
After booking online from Booking.com I forgot about requiring ID. Was freaking out a bit as I wasn't sure if the room had to be cancelled due to no ID, so would loose the money that was for the room. Again own mistake there.
Phoned Thursday night spoke to Dylan and was immedialy calmed and Dyan explained this particular booking with me. Could see previous bookings online, and that he would inform (or note) for the staff members on Friday. With reminder to bring the bank card used during initial booking. Had a quick discussion with Dylan before thanking each other and happy that everything was in the green.
Made it Friday for reservation, totally knackered due being too unfit, then met by Osisin after he dealt with other guests. Really amazing guy. Discussed tattoos briefly, showed other guests in front of me then a particular tattoo that was newer. Ended up discussing this and I also showed Osisin own tattoos with the tribute to my mum who had unfortunately passed years ago. Then discussed about Ireland (Osisin apologies can't remember if it was Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland you said you were from. Then about my gran being Irish and from Belfast. Never been there even though I am probably 1/3 Irish (dad was born there). Osisin said just go for it when you want, only a short plane journey away.
Check in process was a breeze. Used bank card to pay and asked whether I wanted to pay just now or when checking out. Noted that I had been there before and ID was not required, as all the information was there but I needed to look at screen and make sure the information is up to date.
Osisin explained about check in and that every situation is different. Mentioned from information for me, I am a resident of Scotland/UK so can confirm from the record that in my case, ID is not required. If the person is from UK but has not stayed at the hotel before the Apex staff working will deal with that when guest comes. Also that is required for website/other booking platfoems for guests outwith the UK and those guests will be asked for ID.
All chechin procedures was amazing and thanked Osisin. I explained I have not drank tonight, do not intend to and just currently hyper, need to regulate this and calm down. Then at that point thanked Osisin and went to my room.
Had a quick interaction with Vishrut before going to shops for provisions. Also amazing experience. Asked for Osisin's name again as I had already forgot how to say it and asked Vishrut for the proper spelling as it was for a positive review of interactions.
Mentioned about the the hyper state and the positive review being very long or maybe even a paragraph.
Turns out unfortunately it is very long winded with too many indepth points during my interactions with staff 😂
Said bye to two gentleman covering when leaving for the night ahead. Apologises did not get their names.
On returning to hotel in early hours of the morning. Used room card to open main doors, then person on front desk came out to greet me after dealing with whatever job they had at this point.
Later found out when I asked that this 'legend' was John, also postive interaction. Instant rapport. Explained to John that I was just hyper and discussed a bit about the night out
Various topics also, TV shows we liked (Star Trek franchise) me forgetting I had actually watched a specific series of one of the shows. John's informing about previous jobs. Throughout our discussion John was doing his duties and would advise when something needs to be dealt with.
Also said to John that he really needs to do situational comedy but not sure that is the right word. John had me in stitches and at one stage (I didn't say to John), I thought I was going to fell off the seat, I was lauging that much.
Then I noticed the time, said I had taken up too much of John's own time, Thanked him for just being amazing, shook his hand and went to room.
Actually went down to main desk again later on to show what the level of text to staff and would look over to fix typos and if able, try and condense 😂. John was still on his shift with his colleague Denis. Amazing interaction again with John and Denis.
Check out was a breeze as well. Osisin and Matthew both on. Lovely interaction after talking for a while about life etc then got on with the day.
Completely dropped the ball when travelling home initially on check out, contacted Apex, Osisin answered examined I was a numpty but for whatever reason I didn't recognise him. Said I was going to put that the review as well 😂
These kind of interactions do stick and if you can classify this as a core memory and get them later in life, then to me it counts as one.
Not sure why I haven't before. If family/friends are looking for hotel I will recommend Apex.
Just a big thank you to all the staff that dealt with me during stay.
If there are any pay increases or reviews on the cards, I would highly record these staff members. Aware this is their job. Top tier service deserves to be noted."
