Point A Hotel London - Canary Wharf

"Everything you need for an overnight stay. The rooms are small and compact as advertised but they are clean, the beds are comfortable, decent shower and aircon helps set an adequate temperature for sleeping. The breakfast was plentiful and completely fine. I would return"

"My sister and I were visiting from the states. Air conditioning was our one requirement for the place we chose to stay. Point A advertises that their rooms are air conditioned so we decided to go ahead and book. We arrived early for check in and opted to pay the extra £15 for early check in. When we got into our room and looked around there was a fake fingernail on the floor out in the open. If that was left by housekeeping who knows what else wasn’t cleaned. We went back to the desk to tell them about the problem and they immediately gave us another room. We noticed the room was warm but attributed it to the room not having been used, no big deal. We then headed out for the rest of the day to explore the city. We got back around 9 or 10pm and the room was very hot and stuffy. The thermostat read 20C. We adjusted the thermostat and waited. It never got cooler. Again we went to the front desk and someone came up and adjusted the thermostat, we assumed it was our user error and went to sleep. At 3am we woke up and the room was unbearably hot. The other guest with me was physically sick throwing up because of the heat. Went to the front desk again and told them the room was still hot. They offered a fan and said they would have maintenance come in the morning. No one ever came. We told the front desk we were leaving for the day so maintenance could come into the room and do whatever they needed to do. They said okay perfect. Again we came back later in the evening expecting an update or for the problem to be fixed. Maintenance never came into the room every thing was as we left it. So we went to the desk once more and the crew had no idea there was an issue and even told us that if we had come earlier in the morning before checkout time they could have swapped our room. But at that time of day the hotel was sold out. We told them we had been at the desk earlier that morning before checkout out time to tell them maintenance could come to fix the problem and was never given the option to switch rooms at that time or we would have done it. We stayed from July 10th to July 14th and had no air conditioning the entire time. The average temperature that week was well in the high 80’s and low 90’s. We would never recommend this hotel brand to anyone ever. Stay away!"

"Last minute booking as every hotel in London was running in excess of £250 a night. Snapped up for £140 and had low expectations. Location - a pleasant 5/10 minute walk from the tube station. Cleanliness - spotless Staff - super friendly and even managed to get me booked in at 11am in the morning so I could dump my bags, u pack and head out. Room - clean and comfy and had everything I needed. Obviously a little basic (no tea / coffee and no iron etc..) but value for money it’s spot on. Now I had a room without a window (my choice as cheapest option) and on a positive I slept like a log however it could be a little claustrophobic and not my preference but gets 5 🌟 for value and what they delivered they delivered perfectly."
