"I stayed at Cura Kensington for five nights. Overall, the experience did not align with the price charged or with the service standards typically associated with Marriott-affiliated properties.
As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, there was no recognition of status at any point—no welcome amenity/ drink, no upgrade consideration, and no offer of early check-in or late check-out. While this is positioned as a boutique hotel, the complete absence of acknowledgment was disappointing.
The hotel is located in an older building that has been renovated, but there are clear operational limitations. There is only one lift, which is very slow and frequently inconvenient. For guests with large or heavy luggage, this property is particularly challenging: there are no concierge or bell services, and guests must carry luggage up a flight of stairs without lift access or staff assistance, upon entering the hotel.
Housekeeping procedures were also concerning. We kept the “Do Not Disturb” light on throughout the stay, yet housekeeping still entered the room. In addition, a dirty rug was placed on top of my bag containing clean clothes, which raised hygiene and professionalism concerns.
Room soundproofing is poor. Doors slamming late at night were clearly audible, and on one night, love-making noise from a neighbouring room disrupted sleep.
Breakfast lacked variety. During the entire five-night stay, the same limited breakfast spread was served each morning, which did not feel commensurate with the room rate.
The only notable positive is the convenient location near Earl’s Court Underground station. However, given the pricing and the number of service and comfort issues, I believe there are better value options in London. I would not choose to stay here again."
