Design Metropol Hotel Prague

"We booked a City Break with Jet2 and decided to stay at the Design Metropol Hotel in Prague as it seemed to be fairly central for visiting different attractions. As we had been recommended we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us from the airport. On arrival we were welcomed by a very pleasant member of staff who gave us our key cards for our room which was on the 3rd floor. The room was very spacious with all the amenities one requires. Looking out the window we noticed we were just along from tram routes, the noise of them being a wee bit of a nuisance during the night. There was no problem if the window was kept shut as advised. The room was kept spotless by the chambermaid. Breakfasts in the morning were very plentiful with a vast choice of hots, colds, cakes, fruit and drinks. The staff kept the tables spotless after people had finished and left. We would certainly recommend this hotel for location as it wasn't too far from the river and The Old Town Square. A bonus was the sun terrace on the roof reached by the lift to floor 8 then up a flight of stairs. One got very good views over the roof tops of Prague from the Castle round to The Old Town Square and beyond. It was certainly good value for what we had paid."

"Hotel was very clean and good breakfast options . Reception staff were mixed Rooms at the front were very noisy at night as they face onto a busy main road. We did get moved to a quieter room but it ruined our stay so would choose a different hotel next time Good location for sightseeing . Rooftop is good but no option of a bar which would have been nice . Was charged for beer that we did not drink from the room . Be careful getting a taxi in the airport . Got scammed into paying £70 transfer when cost of return was £35 They were very convincing and only other options were uber Be aware that security control in the airport is just before you board the flight . You can take duty free through but signs were confusing . Prague lesser town is beautiful but not impressed with parts of the old town and would not want to stay on a weekend"

"A good hotel in a great location. I want to praise this hotel as a strong 3 star place and not criticise it as a 4 star place as I did struggle with recognising it as 4*. Pros: Great beds/brilliant location/cleaning excellent/good breakfast/fun roof terrace Cons: the room decor needs uplifting. It looks dated/only 1 lift/my room and bathroom felt small and the shower needs modernising. Overall I enjoyed my stay thank you. I feel the hotel and maybe the approach of some of the staff needs lifting to justify what I would usually expect from a 4* hotel"
