"This hotel could be amazing and I would definitely say you get what you pay for. For 6 of us it was a good value holiday. However we will not be returning. We went for a week in August, weather was wonderful, our room was amazing, can't fault it. We were in a 2 bed apartment, it had a kitchen area, was very clean and a great size. Beds were slightly uncomfortable, but thats trying to find something. All rooms circle the pool area, which is lush to not have far to go. Pool area was fab, kids loved it! Some Spanish families put together all the kids playing football, our two boys loved this and spent lots of time on the courts in the evenings. Right negatives.... Queueing for food was a nightmare, especially at lunch time in 35 degree heat, with 4 hungry kids. The most frustrating thing about this, is there is a downstairs restaurant completely empty, doing nothing apart from holding crisps for snacks! We waited several times for over an hour, and tried different times. We gave up with lunch and just got the burgers at the snack bar. However things that are avaliable in the all inc arent advertised very well. The food in the restaurant was very basic and what you would.expect for the price. Unfortunately I became unwell with a very poorly tummy and was hardly able to eat my whole stay! I did report this to reception and my step daughter also became unwell, but not as severely as myself. My other family members got on ok, but did become bored with the variety. The location is perfect if you're happy to stay at the hotel. The shuttle bus could do with running every hour (like it use to) and into the evenings. The town of Tossa is so beautiful and deserves to be visited. I have been to Tossa many times and I found it very frustrating how hard it was to get into town. Taxis often didnt turn up, or we ended up waiting for ages. If there was lots of people waiting for the shuttle, it would take ages and it only had 8 seats (we were a family of 6) one time we waited an hour, while the poor driver was going back and forward. We spent an absolute fortune on taxis (18 euros each way). We had family staying in town and one day, couldn't even meet them as we just couldn't get there. We walked in one evening, I wouldnt recommend it with young children, it took 45 minutes and it was so hot. We have teenagers and it was ok, but only did it once. We had a late flight home, so tried to book our room for a late check out (as advertised) £35 euros for a 4pm check out instead of 10am. I was told to get up early and come to reception to ask. Unfortunately I wasn't able to book this, but was told as a favour we could keep our bands! Ive never with any holiday had our bands taken off us, especially when staying in the middle of no where (no shop or amineties) I stated this and felt like it was really bad customer service if they had refused us to use the facilities. The staff just seemed unhappy and stressed, all felt very stretched. The customer service and the facilities. With a few tweaks this could be a great hotel! Its defo not a 4 star, id say 2 star plus."

"We went as a family of five during the August school holidays. Location: The hotel is in a peaceful area outside of town, which is nice if you're looking for somewhere quieter. However, it can make getting into town difficult, especially for a family of five. The hotel does offer a shuttle service at certain times of the day, but it is only an eight-seater van and there was usually a long queue waiting for it. Getting back to the hotel was even more difficult, as we were often left trying to find a taxi that would take five people, which was surprisingly hard to come by. Room: The room was okay — nothing fantastic, but perfectly adequate. The air conditioning worked very well, which was hugely appreciated in the August heat. Unfortunately, the cleaning was disappointing. We had a coffee in our room on the first morning, and the cups were never changed or cleaned for the rest of our stay. They were simply left on the table all week. The room didn't have a kitchen, just a kettle, microwave and a very small, bar-sized fridge. We also had ants coming in from underneath the shower tray. The beds were uncomfortable, although the sofa was actually very comfortable and I ended up sleeping on it for the entire week. Pool: The pool area itself was clean and tidy, but I would say the pool needs some maintenance. The bottom of the pool was breaking up in places and, by the end of the holiday, my feet and all three of my sons' feet had cuts from the pieces coming away. I also have to mention the lifeguard. He spent a lot of the time either on his phone or nowhere to be seen. We essentially had free rein to do what we wanted around the pool, which is all well and good until something serious happens. Food: The food was pretty much what I expected for a relatively cheap holiday. It was okay and there was enough choice. My biggest complaint was the queues for a table. On several occasions, people were waiting over an hour just to get a table in the restaurant. Also, it wasn't made particularly clear to the English guests that you could order burgers and hot dogs for free from the bar area. We only discovered this on our third day. Entertainment: The kids' entertainment was okay, but it was very much geared towards the Spanish guests. We didn't feel particularly included and the entertainment staff rarely approached us or invited us to take part in activities. In fact, it was other Spanish families staying at the hotel who made the biggest difference to our children's holiday. They regularly got our three boys involved in football in the evenings, and our boys absolutely loved it. We're really grateful to those families because they helped make the holiday much more enjoyable for them. One thing I found particularly frustrating was that, towards the end of our stay, the football area was reserved for adult sports such as football and volleyball. There was a group of children waiting to play, but they couldn't use the area because the adults were playing. For a family-focused holiday, I found that pretty ridiculous. We also had a couple staying next door who were pleasant enough, although they were clearly smoking cannabis in the evenings. We also witnessed the man exchange something discreetly with one of the bar staff around the back of the hotel, where they presumably thought nobody could see them. I don't know what was exchanged, so I can't say for certain what it was, but it certainly looked suspicious and, to us, appeared like a possible drug deal. I realise this review sounds like I've done nothing but complain, but for the most part, the holiday was okay. We paid around £2,500 for the five of us, and at that price I think it was reasonable value. However, I wouldn't have been happy paying much more, and I do think the fantastic weather played a big part in how enjoyable the holiday was. My wife described it as a "Spanish Haven holiday", which is probably the best comparison I can make. If you've been to Haven in the UK, you’ll probably have a good idea of what to expect — basic, family-focused, plenty of things for the kids to do, but with a few issues that stop it from being a truly great holiday."

"I honestly don’t know where all the awful reviews are coming from! 😂 Myself, my brother and my two sons, aged 6 and 14, stayed here on a full board basis and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’re a very well travelled family and have stayed in all kinds of hotels and resorts over the years, so we know what to expect at different price points. For what we paid, we genuinely couldn’t complain! We’ve visited Tossa de Mar twice before and stayed right in the centre, but this time we fancied something a little more chilled and relaxing, and that’s exactly what we got. There was plenty for the kids to do and plenty for the adults too. My brother even got involved in the adult activities, while my boys were more than happy swimming and splashing about in the pools. Food: There wasn’t a huge selection, but we always found something we liked and nobody went hungry. Yes, on some days we did queue for up to around 40 minutes, which obviously isn’t ideal, but we still managed to eat and it certainly didn’t ruin our holiday. We came away wanting to relax, recover and refresh, and that’s exactly what we did. ❤️ We stayed in ground floor apartment 029, which was modern, spacious and directly opposite the big pool. After reading some of the reviews, I was half expecting to be sharing my room with an army of ants and holding my nose every time I went into the bathroom 😂 but nope! No smells from the toilet and no ants or bugs. Our room did back onto the main road, so we could hear cars and motorbikes going past. However, I discovered the revolutionary solution of closing the window 😂. Problem solved! Getting into Tossa de Mar: The hotel runs a FREE shuttle bus into the centre of Tossa de Mar, dropping you at the bus station, which is brilliant. Just be aware that it only has 8 seats, so if it’s full you may have to wait for it to come back, which we did and it really wasn’t a problem. We spent some time at the gorgeous beach and the boys absolutely loved the cliff diving, but as there wasn’t much cover from the sun, we decided we wanted to head back to the hotel pool. And this is where our little adventure began 😂 We went back to the bus station and joined the taxi queue. An hour and a half later, still no taxi! 😭 By this point we were sat in the boiling heat waiting for the hotel shuttle to eventually come back and rescue us 😂. This was an absolute nightmare, but I want to make it clear that it was nothing to do with the hotel whatsoever. If anything, we were VERY grateful for that free shuttle by the end of it! Just a heads up if you’re planning on relying on taxis in Tossa, they can be an absolute nightmare. Also, the concept of a nice orderly British queue doesn’t always seem to translate 😂. We had people happily appearing and jumping in front, so stand your ground! A little tip for anyone with a late flight: On our final day, our transfer wasn’t collecting us until 8pm. We asked at reception and managed to keep our room until 6pm for €55, which was absolutely worth it. Even better, we were still able to use our full board food right up until we left the complex. This made our last day so much easier, especially travelling with children. Now, the entertainment team! You guys absolutely MADE our holiday! All four of you were brilliant, constantly getting everyone involved, so down to earth and somehow still full of energy despite working so hard all day, every day. You genuinely pushed this review up to 5 stars for us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alex would also like to know when his certificate for becoming the BELLY FLOP CHAMPION will be arriving in the post 😂🏆. All four of you are absolute legends! I was genuinely dubious about coming after reading some of the reviews beforehand, but I think sometimes expectations need to match what you’ve paid. You can’t pay for a cheap and cheerful family getaway and expect five star luxury. If you want luxury, you have to pay luxury prices. For what we paid, we had a fantastic, fun and relaxing family holiday. Would I return? Probably not, but only because after three visits I feel like I’ve officially completed Tossa de Mar 😂. It has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel. Would I recommend it to someone wanting an affordable, relaxed and family friendly getaway? Absolutely! ❤️"
