"start with all the bad points. Stayed in mid August, transfer was over an hour, we were half board as the £800 upgrade to AI didn't seem worth it for 3 people and glad we didn't as you still have pay towards a lot of the ice-creams and drinks, and it's a lot more to upgrade to AI gold which does include all the ice-creams and drinks which you would never pay that in cash if you were paying anyway, and that's if can get served!. Read on.
The wait times were horrendous and only one person serving in both the outdoor pool bars at all times, no matter what board you were they still typed in every individual item per person the service was shocking.
This theme continued throughout the entertainment bars at night where there were generally 1 staff sometimes maybe 2. The main indoor hotel bar wasn't much better service wise even though there 2 or 3 staff as most of the times they were doing other things and pretended not to see you, of they were just talking to the Spanish guests whilst you waited, I walked off a few times out of frustration, this place is massively understaffed.
Food and restaurant.
Well!! - breakfast was chaotic the worst queues I have ever seen, I will always expect some queues on hols that's the norm, but this was carnage every morning no matter the time for omelettes or pancakes they had to form 2 separate huge queues as they were both in the middle of the food isle which meant you basically had to push in through people to get to the food in the rest off the hot plates. And forget the toast that was just as bad,and the queue for the coffee machine, My lad was well pee'd off, so we just ate a selection croissants, yogurts, and the occasional bland cold sausage and scrambled egg.
Evening meal again if you wanted anything cooked fresh from the grill station queue, queue queue whilst the rest of your food goes cold, so glad we are not picky eaters as the food selection is just about ok. And bye the way, don't just expect to walk straight into the restaurant, yes you guessed it QUEUE, as they have to check your cards and board basis before you can enter and issue you a ticket.
Sunbeds and pools.
Pools open around 7.30. And people were queuing around 7am to get there preferred beds which I witnessed every morning from my balcony, which to be fair I went down at 7.20am as I'm always up very early anyway, but if you can't beat them join them,
There are to many board basis it's a rip off, just go with half board or all inclusive
The lifts are slow small, hot and sweaty once your in them.
The football pitch is always padlocked so no entry unless it's an organised game for an hour or so with the animtion team.
I swear the people who leave 5* outstanding reviews have rarely been on hols or they have only ever stayed in 2* resorts.
There are more negatives about this place but can't be bothered as I want to get some positives and ok's in.
Room was fine with great views of pool and sea. Beds were comfortable. Aircon a bit weak but okay.
Nice reception and bar area modern with nice lighting plenty of seating.
They put on entertainment every night in 3 different bars, bingo and karaoke in 1, kids entertainment followed by singers or magician ect in 2, and singer in the other (the outside covered area) they were all OK, and if one of them not your thing go check out the others.
The animation team work damn hard and do a great job, they were great at putting on all kinds of activities for adults and kids around the pool.
The pool cleaner needs a mention as he works hard and litter picks in the afternoon around the pools and sweeps the mess left from the others who can't be bothered using the bin.
The hotel looks nice inside and out and you can see there has been money spent. But all that means nothing with the service that's the basic bottom line.
So considering it's hugely understaffed I will save them some time and respond to my own review.
We are glad you enjoyed some aspects of our hotel and our facilities, we take all feedback to improve blah blah blah, during busy seasons there might be some delays (if it was ran properly with staff it would never be that bad) we will pass this on to the management team. but you won't As the same negative issues in the reviews will still be there next year"
