"Jewels in the Crown
My wife and I have visited the Iberostar Bellvue Waves hotel many times (in fact ten ) Usually in July but this time we went in early September. I have reviewed the place many times in detail so I thought I would review how different it was in September. The journey from the airport (Tivat) was much quicker as there was less traffic and a newly opened duel carriageway. The warm welcome was just as warm as before. First I noticed new locks on room doors being card contact unlock rather than card insert, it was much better worked first time every time no wiggling of cards to gain entry, also near our room there was a water station where you can fill bottles of water with cooled filtered drinking water 24/7. we thought it was brilliant. Inside the room were glasses and a large carafe to fill from the station. There was no issues getting sunbeds as there were fewer guests so no need for dawn patrols as sunbeds were available throughout the day. You could get one round the pools even after nine or ten am sometimes. We still prefer the gardens near the fruiting olive and pomegranate trees, it was wonderfully quiet down there I even managed to get a small table most days virtually impossible in July. The next thing was the terraced restaurant on the third floor with the retractable roof. I noticed parts of the roof had been retracted so you could eat outside in the sun or in the shade where the roof was not retracted wonderful. In the evening it meant that parts of the roof retracted had no lights so lamps were lit on the tables where tables were under the stars making a sort of romantic ambience for my wife and I, we loved it. Also inside the restaurant there was the addition of an area designed especially for children with kiddie sized tables and chairs with a sort of toy kitchenette and other things if they got bored eating. It appeared to be very popular with the children and parents who could eat nearby without interruption. There was also little difficulty obtaining a table outside for meals with the help of the staff unlike July. The food in the restaurant was still of the highest quality quantity and diversity, keep an eye out for the BBQ nights. The fruit was of a quality not obtainable in the UK especially the tomatoes never tasted anything in the UK as good. The pizzeria on the ground floor I noticed had barriers removed from the border with the beer garden so you could go in from the garden without having to walk all the way around as in the past. There were also imitation candle lights on the tables in the pizzeria , tables across from the pizzeria and also the beer garden where during the day frequented by the small birds and sometimes at night by hedgehogs, wonderful. The entertainment at night was much the same as we remembered beginning with the children’s show with the animation team working there socks off, our favourites were the Fakir fire show and a trio with live music which were always very popular with guests. During the day there were aerobics in the pool with animation team working hard I was thoroughly exhausted near the end and I was only watching. The weather was sunny and warm with temperatures from low to mid thirties but nowhere near as oppressive as the temperatures in July. Also sea temperature was twenty seven degrees making it much warmer and more comfortable than July which I founds was quite cold. Bus-fares were cheaper than July 25 so all in all it seems the best time for a holiday there is September, but the Jewels in the crown are still the staff who were always pleasant and helpful even though time is fast approaching the end of a very demanding season.

Stroyan, various receptions gave us his usual warm welcome, he used to be in charge of the animation team (exhausting) in the past but has now retired to reception duties we wish our old friend well.

Miodrag the Chef De Cuisine. The main man in charge of quality and service of all the food in the restaurants. Very tall man looks very intimidating in his dark attire but he is also approachable when he is not so busy.
Uros (Urosh) breakfast chef on the grill who always made my bacon and over-easy eggs to perfection always pleasant and welcoming.
Gavrilo Usually chef on the grill for the evening for specialities cooking. Pleasant & welcoming with a very good sense of humour. His steaks & king prawns are magic.
Darko, a most pleasant young man who gives excellent service in the beach bar.
Milos ( Milosh )who took care of our needs in the theatre bar and pizzeria.
Islem our chambermaid who looked after our room on the fifth floor with unbelievable view across the bay & mountains changed towels and sheets when we needed them, always pleasant and welcoming.
Tanjia ( Tanya) third floor chambermaid, from ten years ago who came to see my wife (in her own time) when she was feeling under the weather as she has a fear of flying which sometimes makes her ill. She is such a wonderful kind caring person and we always seek her out on our visits as she is one of the reasons we returned after our first visit, she is special..
Last but not least all the lads and lasses who work their socks off in the hotel without whom our holiday would never have been the best ever.
