"We stayed seven nights in a two bedroom room, with one bathroom. For a family of three, we were top floor of a middle block. We overlooked the resort next door and could see the sea from our room. Room 2360.
It was clean, tidy, well maintained, our daughter loved the towel art.
I cant fault the place. Staff friendly and amenable. Levels of basic English good. (far better than our Arabic) Good facilities and entertainment for the family. Plenty of bottled water available.
We have a 7 year old and she had a fabulous holiday, what kid doesn't eating their weight in ice cream and biscuits. We spent our days around the busy entertainment pool, she enjoyed the water parks and foam party. We weren't too keen on the evening entertainment which we only watch a bit of.
Loved the accessibility of snorkelling, with a lifeguard.
We only ate lunch in MC Club. Which was basic but good fresh quality, and suited us well with a pool loving child. The good thing was the water slides turned off over lunch which is great for us to get children to lunch.
Dinner was a hilarious affair with the random dinning setup like no other with walking between restaurants, finding outdoor serveries, and hunting over multiple rooms for your pick of food. We didn't go hungry as adults and always found the choice wide. It was also turned into some fun when you saw something on another guest plate you fancied and then had to hunt for it. Dinner for a child was a different, the kids buffet was to bland for our daughter but the main choices a bit to much for her palette but she soon had to get over it and each night we found her something and she ate the fruit with no complaints.
You could get a personalised pizza and pasta every dinner.
Breakfast was fine, lots of omelette stations. Good choice there.
The bakery at Columbus, I've never experienced anything like this at a hotel before, it was great to have a cake and coffee or just grab a biscuit while walking through, the range was brilliant.
The meal times, if you have toddlers you need to plan. Snacks at MC stop at 5pm and dinner doesn't start until 6.30.
Aqua park was good, open 3 hours a day. Drinks there were a bit limited, water and fizzy soft.
But there is a full bar a short walk.
We drank the coffee, the mojitos in the sports bar, bottled water was everywhere no problems getting that. Soda drinks. Beer was good.
I loved that there was plenty of pools you could choose from the choice was great for that.
No problems getting sun loungers even at the busy pool and one morning we did struggle, the staff were quickly on hand to get loungers and parasols sorted out for us. around the pools, lifeguards were hot on it, kids and adults alike were soon told off if they were doing things they shouldn't have and with out delay or hesitation they would shut a pool for an hour or so if someone was sick or worse.
My only small niggle is that the Spa and excursion sellers are a bit to frequent, their polite and all and once you say no they do get the hint. But you have to say a lot of no's.
We left at 5pm and were able for 50euros get another room for the afternoon so we were all fresh for the journey home. Which they sent a porter to help us move. But that process could have been made a bit more fluid by having the porter meet us at the old room with the new room keys and then done a key swap with him, opposed to us going to reception with our old key swapping the keys then going back to outside our old room waiting for the porter.
I don't think anyone expects tips here, but if you do tip they are certainly grateful and does help with getting drinks delivered to you at the pool, our waiters were constantly asking us if we wanted more drinks. and the dinner staff were more helpful in the morning if you had tipped the night before.
I would return."
