Oca Ribeira do Porto Hotel

"This is a miserable place. Towels were so thin they literally had holes (check pic), there was no water pressure so the top mounted shower head would not function,had to use the hand held hose. There were no wineglasses even though this is an apartment. We were disappointed with the room as we had paid for a triple room even though there just the two of us. When we raised this with management they didn’t know what to say. We showed them the pictures on the website which we determined was actually the same picture regardless of which room you select. The foyer carpets were stained and the edges of the common area battered (see pic). You can do way better in Porto than this place."

"We spent a long weekend at the Oca Ribiera in September. It’s perfectly placed for the waterfront, which is a very very busy area! We had a corner room with two lovely French windows overlooking the river. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and big enough for two people on a short break. We didn’t have the breakfast as we preferred to go out. No kettle in the room which is a shame. Rooms cleaned every day. Noisy in evening but it’s quite by 11 so no problem. Staff nice and helpful. Would recommend this hotel."

"We stayed here last week. The location is perfect. Our view from the room over looked the river and the plaza below. You’re within a stones throw of the Douro and a lot of area restaurants. Our room was very comfortable. My lovely wife’s only comment was on being confused about whether breakfast was included in the price. She thought it was, so we ended up paying an additional 12 euros per person. Be sure to clarify this on your visit. We would stay here again."
