"Where to start? We have been so fortunate to have stayed in some amazing holiday venues over the years, however, the Movenpick in Risan just a short half hour local bus to Kotor, Old Town, was an exceptional experience from the moment we arrived until the time we left five days later. It is the ambassadors who work at hotels, that make a stay so memorable and this particular hotel has such an outstanding team working together to make every guest’s stay an unforgettable experience. While we did not get the name of everyone who took such wonderful care of us, we hope that management will pass on our thanks to those we have not mentioned, of how much we valued their care and kindness. At reception we were warmly received by Aldina, offered a cooling welcome drink and seamlessly checked in for our five nights at the Movenpick. Recognition of our diamond ALL ACCOR membership was noted and what was available for us to access during our stay shared. With the assistance of the wonderful Luka who helped us with our bags to our room 152, we immediately knew that this was going to be a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay available. Including a kitchen area with utensils and crockery, a dishwasher and even more appreciated, a washing machine and dryer. Far more than we ever had anticipated when booking this newly opened hotel in May this year. 2026. Breakfast was included in our renovation and was exceptional. A huge choice of options was available to suit every taste with dining either outside on the terrace or inside in the beautifully appointed dining room. We were planning to eat out in the village of RIsan or surfer afield, but the Mawer’s restaurant on the beach or the main restaurant in the hotel itself was so good we didn’t need to look anywhere else to dine during our stay. The sandy beach and the beautiful pools were a real treat inn the hot days we experience during our stay. Towels were always available as were lounges and cabanas. The waters of the Adriatic were so inviting we spent many a happy and relaxing hour just unwinding after seven weeks of being on the road. Having mentioned how important the team who looked after us during our stay was, it now comes to one of the reasons this hotel stands out as an exceptional experience. It is not often you see management engage so fulsomely with guests, however we were blessed to have met, Nikola, the hotel Food and Beverage manager at the Movenpick! What.an outstanding gentleman he was and clearly ambitious to make the Movenpick Risan a brilliant and unforgettable experience for guests. We cannot thank Nikola enough for engaging with us so generously and taking such care and interest in us. As did all the staff we met during our stay. "Our 25th Wedding Anniversary was truly spectacular and special in every way. We wrote to the hotel prior to booking and received an overwhelming response of professional courtesy offering us a personal promise and guarantee that our experience would be memorable and it truly was. All staff took time and care to acknowledge our visit, communication had been passed to all staff areas of our reason for staying. Nikola F&B Manager took personal care of our first evening and breakfast to make sure we had a first class impression of the hotel and its offerings, including the following morning at Breakfast took time to prepare our sun beds on the beach for the best relaxing views. Ivona Concierge tailored specifically a day and itinerary for our 25th Anniversary, a day we'll never forget and recommended the Conte Seafood Restaurant in Perast, a boat trip to 'Lady of Our Rock' (ladies cover legs) and a dreamy romantic exclusive dinner on the Hotel's beach was organised, just my husband and I served by Nikola and Dennis. A truly mesmerising experience by the sea surrounded by the beautiful Kotor Bay and mountains, something you see in movies but this vision was brought to life by Movenpick Teuta, care of Nikola and his team with a generous touch of champagne to help us celebrate. All staff were exceptional and we had memorable interactions with all teams from Breakfast to Dinner and around the resort including at the poolside by Morgan. Our Room was a superior sea view and was totally stunning and kept spotless daily. I am wheat and cows milk intolerant and the executive chef ensured I was catered for to the best standard and made sure I was spoilt and didnt miss out, food and catering is exceptional (you will see in my pictures) the team are still embedding their half board provision but we had the most optimal a la carte experience each morning and at night courtesy of Jose, Mladen, Dennis, Tanja and greeted by Vinja each day. Guest relations checked with us daily to ensure we were having a wonderful time, some minor matters were overcome with speed and courtesy and the occasional complimentary gesture to ensure we were happy with our stay and our time remained optimal for the duration. The Bay of Kotor Risan really is the most special, impressive and captivating landscape I have seen, full of beauty everywhere you look and the infinity pool really was a perfect setting to enjoy it all. The village has some wonderful legend and history to explore, quiet and idyllic and I have no doubt will blossom even more in the coming years to meet the standards set by the Hotel to respond to its diverse guests and growing needs as the village becomes busy but is presently full of natural charm. All in all the hotel delivered on promise and guaranteed our wonderful time and did all they could to ensure we had the most amazing 25th Anniversary week. The general manager also took care to check we had the time we were hoping for. We had some extremely minor issues but staff worked around promptly taking care of communication directly with us when our bedroom phone failed so we were enabled WhatsApp numbers for staff to make direct contact should we have needed to communicate any time. The hotel is family friendly and although we travelled as a couple we didnt find children too much (parents of adults now) When the children's beach and pool is in situ, I expect the infinity pool will feel much more exclusive for adults to relax but the main beach is a huge expansion of space to enjoy peace and tranquility. We are looking forward to returning and experiencing the full compliment of hotel facilities once the Beach Bar Restaurant and Rooftop Cocktail bars are in place and open, however, the simplicity and uninterrupted views and 1st class attendance by Movenpick Teuta teams and staff, their personal care and attention daily, truly ensured our best time and unforgettable experience, for that we are eternally grateful.
