"If you, like me, having read reviews about this hotel and are/were apprehensive, don’t be. This is a beautiful hotel, minimalistic in design and decor. It is fairly remote and you need to get a taxi into nearby towns. The hotel public spaces are large, bright and airy. You have the beach, the outdoor and indoor pool to choose from (indoor also has jacuzzi and plenty of beds to lounge around on). During the day, the outdoor pool plays ‘chill out’ music which is very relaxing. There are lots of other areas to sit, relax, read, drink. Kids pool is tucked around the corner with plenty of space for adults. It is 9:15am and there are only a handful of beds around the pool that have had towels laid out - I see no fight for sunbeds. Poolside towels are clean and good quality and sunbeds comfortable, with plenty of umbrellas for shade and pool beds have handy shades for your head. The area is surrounded by wonderful scenary, pine trees everywhere. We have a villa room, in a block nestled in the quieter corner (block 56) and it is one of the nicest/largest rooms I’ve stayed in with a lovely large balcony, complete with wrought iron effect railings. Large living space, shower and double sinks. Beds are very comfortable (on the firmer side) with additional pillows if needed and air con that works properly and is quiet. There are various activities to choose from if that is your thing. I haven’t experienced the evening entertainment, but it is away from rooms so isn’t noisy at night. The breakfast buffet is superb - omelettes cooked to order and every conceivable breakfast food and drink item available. All fresh, nicely laid out. No fights for tables as there are plenty inside and out. Given a lot of comments were about the food, I can only assume some of these people have not travelled extensively or have unrealistic expectations. It is a buffet style restaurant, open from 6:30pm until 10pm. We went for dinner at 7:30pm, and there were many tables still free. Ample choice for meals including local dishes, items cooked to order (we had steak last night), plenty of salads etc. none of our food was cold (I like mine piping hot usually) but I was pleasantly surprised. If you decide to turn up at 9:45pm to eat expecting the same quality, quantity and range perhaps not? Even the fussiest of eaters won’t go hungry. Local wine and beer is also very good, and there is a wide range of premium/branded spirits such as Aperol, Baileys, Hendricks, Bombay Saphire etc. Staff are friendly and most speak English well. There are a few English (like us) tourists here but it is a nice mix of Eastern Europeans, Germans, Ukrainians and some Russian. It makes a nice change to hear different languages. If you’ve ever bought a new house you’ll know there are ALWAYS snagging items. This hotel is no different - there are a few small patches on the walls where there has been a leak or damp in the walls but these typically are tucked away. If a mark on a ceiling is going to ruin your holiday then I think you need to think differently. And I can assure you other 5 star hotels around the world I’ve stayed in also have flaws if you look hard enough. Is this a 5 star hotel? No, probably not but it depends in your travel experience, your reference point and your expectations. But it is a very nice 4 star, with all that we need and wanted, and we would definitely come back. I wouldn’t come in July or August (but I choose not to holiday then) but a week here in September is lovely. Don’t let the bad reviews put you off. If you are polite, kind snd considerate most people will respond accordingly."

"New all inclusive hotel, between Sutomare and Bar, the location is isolated but it’s actually was a plus for us! Big territory, with beautiful pine trees, all new and clean. The food was good and quite different every day. The personal was super helpful and polite. Special thanks to the guys from the kids club!"

From the exceptional food to the breathtaking sunsets, everything was simply perfect. Our daughters joined Star Camp and were welcomed with so much warmth and enthusiasm.
