"Our honest review from a family visit to BLV.
July 2026
Family of 4 - 2 Adults and 2 Children (7, nearly 8 & 4)
As this year is our 10 year wedding anniversary we paid a little extra towards our holiday and it really was a beautiful place.
In no particular order, see our review below.
The location from the airport is perfect for a family. Once we had collected our bags, we headed straight for a coach which was for our hotel only. (I didn’t book a private transfer). The drive was around 15-20mins.
On the way back to the airport it was a small mini bus for ourselves and 2 other families.
When we arrived at the hotel around 10pm, there was still a small buffet open.
We booked a 2 Bedroom Family Swim Up (Room 8503) for that added extra luxury and the kids were so surprised when they saw the pool right outside our door. We were lucky enough to have the end (in a row of 3) so we only had ourselves and no one swimming by. Our room overlooked the Activity Pool and you could see the beach - perfect.
The beds were a great size and we had both a bath and a shower, although the bath plug struggled to hold water on the 1 night my son used it.
The only downsides were that the floor tiles around the room pool (and to be honest around the activity pool) are very slippy when wet and that the room was loud/noisy at nighttime when there are shows at the theatre.
The hotel is set on a huge footprint, with so many pools, rooms, restaurants and bars. There is so much choice, maybe (dare I say it 😅 - too much choice.) I have read about different pools and bars in this group and I wouldn’t know where they are 😂.
We enjoyed walking around and finding new parts of the resort but sometimes jumped on a buggy, as the kids found this another fun part of the holiday.
The pools and waterpark areas were all really enjoyable and we never struggled finding a sunbed even when we moved from one place to another during the day.
We didn’t leave the resort as we were happy to stay put for the week.
The weather was beautifully hot with a slight breeze. I have two fair haired/skinned kids so a lot of suncream was needed. I recommend bringing your own - see below for shop prices.
At night the temperature dropped and the wind picked up. We didn’t have cardigans but it might be worth bringing one.
Both my children really enjoyed the hotel kids clubs on different occasions. The staff are really friendly and the kids were well looked after.
Leo’s birthday t shirt day activity there was an additional 10 euro per t shirt made.
We all enjoyed the Mini Disco, fun for everyone each evening.
At the end of the disco the staff sell personalised t shirts for 18 euros. You pay the night you order and collect the next night as your child’s name can be put on.
They also sell Leo Lion teddies at 15 euros each.
The evening entertainment was brilliant, all the staff are so talented and we enjoyed every night!
I found the TUI kids club awkward to book which put me off to be honest as it should be so easy on the app. As the kids enjoyed the hotel kids club so much I didn’t look any further into the TUI one.
I saw a post saying the games room is in unusable as it’s so hot however this wasn’t the case as it does have air con. But you have to be careful as some of the games/rides are broken and swallow your euros.
We found the mini market very expensive for toys/games ect so I am glad we took our own inflatables. The kids had very little choice with their 10 euro each holiday money from Nana. I didn’t look at prices for the snacks or drinks.
The beach is sandy and gets very hot.
The rocks entering the water are very slippy so you are encouraged to enter the water using the jetty. We didn’t swim in the sea but could see fish from the end of the jetty.
We used the Mythos Buffet for breakfast as it was closest to our room. Nice breakfast and we all found something to eat.
We use the Mythos and Ocean buffets for lunch and really enjoyed the Ocean restaurant. Seemed like there was more choice and always had pizza and pasta for the kids. There are also snack bars if you only want a toastie, pizza, waffle or pancakes.
Be careful at the beach snack bar as the cat there bit my daughter and we had to seek first aid. She was very upset and then extremely weary of all other cats.
In the evening we used the Aegean Buffet (which is huge - make sure you use both rooms 😂) we only used the first room on our first night with Kids Corner as we didn’t realise the other side was part of the buffet.
We enjoyed the Italian and Chinese A La Cart but found the BBQ a little stressful and hot when you are cooking your own food. Might be a nicer experience with older children but my children were hungry and the food was taking a while to cook.
Unfortunately the holiday ended with a situation where my engagement and wedding ring was missing which was reported to reception. I don’t think I will find out what happened to them so that has put a little damper on the holiday.
We checked out of our room at 11am and used the luggage hold at reception for our cases and the lockers in the Courtesy room for our backpacks.
We used the courtesy room showers at 5pm (Closes at 6) to freshen up, went for dinner and were collected at 7.30pm for our late night flight home.
Overall an enjoyable holiday which I would recommend to others."
