"Honestly one of the most surprisingly wonderful hotel stays I’ve had in a very long time.
I originally wanted to stay at The Dolli and was honestly a bit annoyed that it was fully booked — but in the end I am SO happy we stayed at Athens Capital Suites instead.
From the very first second, the service was beyond exceptional. Lambros, Mena and Melissa were truly outstanding — warm, elegant, genuinely kind and incredibly attentive. Not the fake luxury-hotel friendliness, but real hospitality. They were especially wonderful with our children and made us feel completely at home from day one.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. It has this refined 1920s atmosphere that has been renovated very carefully and tastefully. There are so many thoughtful architectural and interior design details everywhere you look — everything feels extremely high-end, calm and sophisticated without trying too hard.
We stayed in Suite 402 and it was fantastic. Huge windows flooding the suite with light, two very spacious bedrooms with separate bathrooms, a large living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There’s even a washing machine, which at first I thought we would never use — and then ended up being incredibly practical while traveling with kids.
Everything was immaculate. Truly spotless. Peak clean. Not a single detail overlooked.
The beds were heavenly. I slept unbelievably well here. The mattresses, bedding, pillows — all very high quality — and despite being in the center of Athens, the hotel is wonderfully quiet. The suites are located in a peaceful side street right by Syntagma Square and the Parliament, and outside the windows there were these gorgeous purple blooming trees that somehow made the whole stay feel even more magical and calm.
Now, technically this is not one of those hotels with the dramatic direct Acropolis view — but honestly? I did not miss a thing.
The location is PERFECT. You can walk everywhere. We easily walked with our children to the Acropolis, the National Garden is just around the corner, and everything important is within 15–20 minutes on foot.
One thing I initially wasn’t sure about was that the pool is located in the sister hotel, about two minutes away. But this turned out to be absolutely no issue at all. In fact, we loved it. The pool is long and narrow, perfect for actually swimming laps, and during Pentecost holidays it was almost empty when we went with our children.
The rooftop view over Athens is spectacular. After walking around the Acropolis in the heat all day, coming back there for a swim, lying in the sun with an Aperol Spritz and snacks honestly felt perfect. At that point, you really don’t wish for anything else. It was incredibly refreshing and relaxing.
One evening we spontaneously wanted dinner reservations and the concierge immediately organized a fantastic rooftop table for us — absolutely no problem. Every extra request we had during the stay was handled effortlessly and graciously.
We usually had breakfast in our suite and it honestly left nothing to be desired: fresh orange juice, eggs any style, beautiful presentation, excellent quality. So comfortable and easy.
Also: complimentary drinks, wine waiting for us in the room, a gorgeous cheese plate upon arrival… so many thoughtful touches everywhere.
This hotel genuinely exceeded every expectation. Elegant, spacious, incredibly comfortable, spotless, warm-hearted and professionally run.
Would return in a heartbeat."
