"I stayed here for 4 nights with family as a birthday celebration and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.
The private transfer from the airport took 45 mins which was good. Unfortunately the company we booked with weren’t up to scratch but this wasn’t anything to do with the hotel.
The hotel is situated on a slightly steep hill and had a supermarket right at the bottom which was very handy. Also at the bottom was the main road that takes you right to the beach with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars along the way.
It was an ideal location for us, close enough to all the amenities we wanted but far enough away from the nightlife so we weren’t disturbed by noise.
The hotel entrance and reception area were welcoming and the staff on reception were always friendly, helpful and courteous.
This applies to all of the other staff too. They were professional but also liked to laugh and joke with the guests.
As a person with a disability, I always worry about steps and access to all areas generally, but here, this wasn’t a problem.
There were charging points outside the front door for charging mobility scooters and there were 2 lifts that went from reception to all the floors above. One stopped working at one point but that was sorted out immediately.
Another lift just went from reception to the floor below, straight into the dining room.
This meant that the lifts were never busy.
You could access the pool area from the dining room but the door was kept shut and you had to ask a member of staff to open it for you.
I wasn’t comfortable doing this so used the slope outside instead.
We were given interconnecting rooms on the 7th floor with the interconnecting door locked which was good but it meant that we could hear everything from each others rooms. I think this is all over the hotel as we could hear the voice in the lift saying the floor numbers and we were a few rooms away from the lift.
The rooms were exactly like the photos on the website we booked with and everything was as described which made a refreshing change.
The rooms and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the towels were changed daily and the bed was very comfortable. The balcony was big and the furniture was nice.
The only downside was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. We didn’t need the fridge during our stay but in the summer months I think it would be essential.
We did use the A/C though which was very good.
There were a few unusual things about the rooms. The open fronted wardrobe was fine but the frosted glass door on the bathroom was odd especially as it was directly opposite a full length mirror.
The most unusual thing was the choice of furniture. It was made of metal and made so much noise both when it was moved and when you put anything onto the bedside tables that it could be heard from the other rooms. The charger for my watch also kept getting stuck on the table due to it being magnetic.
The pool area had plenty of beds and a shaded area by the bar. We were given a token each to use around the pool. This was for a plastic cup. When you wanted another drink you gave the cup back and got another one. When you were finished around the pool, you returned the cup and were given the token back ready for the next day.
We were A/I and found the drink selection to be quite good. The food was surprisingly good too. It was varied and everyday had a different theme which was nice but also the usual staple dishes like salads and chips etc.
We always found something to eat even though the selection was smaller than bigger hotels. We quite liked that as there was less wastage.
Everything was well cooked but could have been hotter. Even when we went to the restaurant as it opened the food wasn’t as hot as we expected it to be. There was also a station that offered freshly cooked meat and fish.
The desserts were amazing. Varied, colourful and asking to be eaten. I was sceptical at first as I don’t like the artificial cream that normally fills these desserts and leaves a nasty aftertaste but these were absolutely delicious and were all presented so nicely. We all found our favourite and it was very hard not to overindulge.
We found the evening entertainment sadly lacking. The member of staff, I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, tried hard but I don’t think she had enough guests to make things work well. I imagine as the season gets busier that will change.
One of our group celebrated a birthday during our stay and was delighted when we returned in the evening to find a bottle of bubbly, some glasses and a plate of cakes in one of our rooms with a card from the hotel. A lovely touch.
The hotel is well situated for exploring the local amenities and there is a market, within walking distance of approx. 15 minutes, every Wednesday. It is quite big and as well as fruit and vegetables there is plenty of clothing stalls, shoes, bags and household goods and a few cafes when you need a rest. Well worth a visit.
Apparently there is another market further away by the bus station but this one was perfect for us.
All in all we had a really nice time in a really nice hotel in a good area of Benidorm and will be returning in the future."
