Hotel Antik San Sebastian

"I'll list the plus and minus below ( more minuses than plus) + Reasonable room cost, nice bathroom with powerful shower, comfortable bed, dog friendly (but....), parking onsite ( but...) - Dogs, an extra charge of e15 per day no matter how long your stay, which I thought a bit excessive. This was not evident on the website when booking. Dogs not allowed in breakfast area, not even to get a quick coffee. Noise, hotel is facing a flyover with constant traffic. Was very loud and constant even with window shut. Room so hot, there is very little ventilation. Our room had no balcony, only a window that opened about 2 inches. Uncomfortably hot. Air-conditioning, the website said "all rooms are air-conditioned". When I asked reception about this, they said only in mid summer, maybe June. It was 22 degrees in a stuffy room on our visit in March. Reception just shrugged and said open the window. Carparking, our vehicle was too high for the very space restricted underground parking. About 30 overground spaces around the hotel. The website does not tell you there is a daily charge for parking in the hotel carpark while resident at the hotel. 4e a day, not a fortune but it felt like extra costs being added on at every opportunity. You can't pay at reception for parking, and the paying machine instructions only in Spanish. On asking reception he said the hotel carpark was nothing to do with the hotel, that someone else owned it. Was just tiresome after a long drive to get there."

"Room was very nice and the staff were friendly. Breakfasts were adequate but there was no other food or a bar available that I could find. The hotel is a little out of the centre of town though this was not a particular disadvantage as bus transport to the beach and town was frequent and cheap. I would go stay again as it was good value"

"This is the worst hotel I ever stayed. - When you book the hotel offers free parking, but afterwords when the room can't be canceled anymore they tell you that there are only limited free parking spots available and that they only parking spots left that you have to pay for. It is very poor that the hotel has to result to this kind of practice to get clients - The staff is very unpleasant. - The rooms have so thin walls that you can follow the complete conversation of the neighbors. Completely no sound isolation. - The rooms are dirty: Spots on curtains, damaged walls, signs of humidity and mold - Airco is very load and doesn't work properly I don't understand how this can be a 4 star hotel. 1 star would be more apropriate "
