B Hotel

"Stayed at the B-hotel for 4 nights recently, using it as a base for our attendan at Les Mills Live which was being held at Fira de Barcelona. Firstly the location is excellent. We managed to get from El Prat airport using the metro and train and this brought us out at Espanya metro station which is literally steps from the hotel. It should be noted that there is some construction going on around the general area but it didn't detract from our stay. On arrival at the hotel then check in process was easy enough. We were aware of the city tax which we'd have to pay but were also informed that there would be a 100 euro hold put on the card which would be released at the end of the stay. I'm sure this is somewhere in the terms and conditions but I hadn't seen it personally so it wasn't a huge issue but again something to expect. The hotel itself looks very modern and it is literally attached to a Starbucks which is handy. We were assigned room 207 on the 2nd floor and upon arrival to the room this again was modern inside, had the usual amenities such as a kettle, safe, storage for clothing, a large screen TV and a large and comfortable double bed. There is a balcony however it isn't one big enough to sit on but you can stand on it and also the 'shutters' on the windows do slide across. The bathroom was well equipped with a hair dryer, toiletries and there is a bath/shower. The shower does have a glass partition so from the bed you can see into the bathroom however there are 2 buttons near the socket next to the sink which opens and close the blinds for privacy. We did have to look around initially as to how to close these as there were no instructions but that is how to do it. Quite a neat feature really. Also when it comes to operating the shower, you do need to pull up the shower knob to turn it on rather than simply turn it left and right. We did have to ask at reception about this as initially we thought the shower want working probably but it turned out we weren't doing it right. The toilet and bidet are in the bathroom section separated by another sliding door. Air con in the room was reasonable, I'm not convinced it was working as well as it should be we put up it. It's worth nothing aswell that the hotel is next to a very busy road for both traffic and pedestrians and although our sleep wasn't particularly disturbed you can hear the noise from outside so if you are a light sleeper it maybe worth requesting a room on a higher floor or a different part of the hotel but overall I had a good night's sleep but this may not be the case for everyone. The hotel also has a rooftop bar and pool which offers great views of the city. We did go up there tonha e a look and although the bar was closed at the time it's certainly a nice area if you want to relax. We had breakfast in our package and this is on the 1st floor and this offered adequate food choices with a selection of hot and continental choices along with teas and coffees so and this starts at 730am through to 1030am. Hotel WiFi was fine and that worked throughout our stay without any connection issues. From the espanya metro station you can literally travel all over and the transport ststem is extremely efficient aswell so really no need to taxis to get around. All in all we had a very comfortable stay at B-Hotel and we'd certainly consider this in any future travels to the city."

"Avoid! You will be asked for a 100 euro deposit on arrival. In our case this was not stated in any of our booking information so came as a nasty surprise on arrival. When I called the hotel to request this back after it has not been refunded they hung up on me. I would like to point out that we did not use the mini bar, left the room as we found it and did not give them any reason to withhold this. Edit-B Hotel have since responded to my review by explaining that they hung up on me because they were busy and “repeatedly” told me to email my complaint which they have of course ignored. Hence the reason to want to resolve over the phone! I still have not received my deposit back and they made it my problem. I think the response I got from my complaint also shows the level of customer service in operation at the hotel. B-hotel please contact me directly to issue the money owed to me. It’s safe to say I wouldn’t stay here again based on having to pay a “deposit” that they have not yet reunited 3 months on from our stay."

"Perfect location for getting around Barcelona , metro, buses and walking all very convenient. The Hotel is modern and very clean, rooms cleaned daily. The atmosphere is a very relaxed one . The rooftop bar and pool is so nice a chilled area , staff are lovely . Towels provided by the pool and whst I loved is once you checked out you can still go upto the roof pool and bar which was grest because we had a late flight home. Will definitely be returning. Myself and my son were on a city break and both had our own rooms . Will definitely be returning. I have to add the young mam on the bar on Thursday 20th Aug made the best Pina Colada ive ever had !
