Together with her dedicated team, she has transformed Niu Hotel into far more than a place to stay; it has become a welcoming home for its guests. The gracious reception, refined service, ever-present smiles, and impeccable cleanliness throughout the property all create an unforgettable experience. The exceptional breakfast, with its remarkable variety, quality, and careful preparation, adds joy to every morning and reflects the hotel’s commitment to caring for its guests from the moment they arrive until the moment they depart. From the hotel, the Mediterranean Sea is only about a thirty-minute walk away. Yet within that short journey, you travel across centuries of history. Every street holds a memory, every alley tells another chapter of a city that began as an important Roman port, flourished during the Middle Ages as one of the Mediterranean’s leading commercial centres, and eventually became the cultural and artistic capital of Catalonia. Gothic architecture stands gracefully beside the masterpieces of the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, while historic markets coexist harmoniously with stylish modern cafés. Here, you quickly discover that the city embraces its rich heritage without ever sacrificing its vibrant present. Perhaps even more remarkable are its people. Their faces reflect contentment and a genuine love of life. Courtesy and kindness seem woven into everyday interactions, making you realise that respect for others and for personal space is not simply an ideal, but a deeply rooted cultural value. It is this atmosphere that allows visitors to feel both safe and free as they explore the city’s diverse neighbourhoods. Barcelona’s restaurants offer yet another unforgettable experience. Traditional Spanish cuisine is served with pride, while the fresh seafood from the Mediterranean remains the true hallmark of the city’s culinary identity, where authentic local flavours blend beautifully with Barcelona’s cosmopolitan spirit. One of the most memorable highlights of our journey was our visit to Tablao de Carmen, a venue that captures the very essence of authentic Spanish culture through spectacular flamenco performances presented in an atmosphere reminiscent of Spain’s golden age. The visit became even more special thanks to Mimo, the daughter of the husband of the renowned dancer who now manages the venue. She welcomed us with extraordinary generosity and heartfelt hospitality. We owe this wonderful experience to the hotel’s owner, Dr. Haytham, whose long-standing friendship with her made this memorable encounter possible, adding the warmth of genuine human connection to the beauty of Spanish art. Barcelona is not a city that impresses visitors solely through its landmarks, but through the lasting emotions it leaves behind. It masterfully brings together the sea and history, art and everyday life, tradition and openness. And the moment you leave, you begin to miss it, as though the city quietly whispers that returning is not merely a possibility—but an appointment waiting to happen. Barcelona… a city that does not simply welcome you—it makes you fall in love with it."

"Don’t be misled by the photos on the website—they don’t reflect the reality of our stay. The room was not properly cleaned, particularly around the edges, and there was visible mould around the shower fittings. The wardrobe door was also damaged and appeared to have been repaired multiple times without success. Due to the high temperatures during our stay, we struggled to sleep. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit could not be set below 21°C. When we asked at reception, the staff member was polite and friendly but explained that the system could not be adjusted unless seasonal changes were made across the entire hotel. We were advised to keep the window open at night instead. However, this wasn’t a viable solution. The hotel’s location meant there was significant noise outside late into the night, including shouting, arguments, and disturbances from people in the area—often continuing until around 3am. This left us choosing between being uncomfortably hot or being kept awake by noise. The breakfast was freshly laid out all morning with staff topping items as it was consumed, additionally, the dining tables were not presented as shown in the promotional images. Instead of fully set tables, they were laid out very simply with just a side plate, cutlery, and a napkin. The immediate surroundings of the hotel were also not particularly appealing, with a high concentration of kebab shops, vape stores, tourist trinket shops and phone shops. That said, it is only a short walk into the main city centre, where the atmosphere is much more vibrant and the streets are far more pleasant."

"We just returned from a lovely stay at Hotel Niu, where we went for 4 nights to celebrate my Wife's birthday. Our room which we upgraded from the standard room was very nice. Big shout out to Luna, Simon & Alex on the front desk, who were friendly, helpful & just all round wonderful - thank you to all of you. Positives - great position to get around, friendly & comfortable, birthday basket for my Wife, gluten free bread available every morning. Negatives - our room was quite noisy (nothing that can be done really when you bear in mind the position of the hotel), the area is quite grubby & feels slightly dodgy, the coffee machine at breakfast never really worked & nothing was done about it."
