Hotel Caledonian

"During a brief layover in Barcelona, from September 28 to 30, I stayed at this hotel. I had been to Barcelona several times and knew that the location was very good. When booking, I don't know how I ended up on CHECH24; I opted for a 15 m² standard double room, but I had the unpleasant surprise, if you can call it that, of being assigned an 8 m² room. The room was clean, the front desk staff was very kind, but my short stay was affected by the size of the room (I couldn't sleep because I was afraid of falling out of bed, it was very narrow). I didn't know and don't care what "relationship" exists between this hotel and CHECH24 (they told me they have no collaboration...), I think I was an innocent "victim.""

"The Caledonian Hotel is barely visible; we drove past it without seeing it. It seems that this discretion is a Barcelona specialty imposed by the city. If you unload your luggage, it will be at your own risk, halfway on the sidewalk. Nothing is provided by the city for unloading in front of hotels. Definitely! Given the price of the rooms (over €300), one might expect to receive help with parking and unloading, but no, the receptionist is alone. The parking lot is on the other side of the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. €20 per day. Apart from this inconvenience, our room was large and well-equipped, decent breakfast. Pleasant neighborhood near the Universitat metro station. Expensive, but everything is expensive in Barcelona!"

"Positive experience Central location, near Plaza de Catalunya, La Rambla, university, metro, comfortable room, very kind staff We had a good time and everything was very clean! We checked out in the morning and they even kept our luggage in special compartments locked with an electronic padlock, until 5 in the afternoon when we had to leave."
