"We stayed in a junior suite on the fifth floor and loved it. Clean, modern and spacious, with a lovely welcome waiting for us on arrival including a bottle of cava, Danish sweets, fruit and a personal card from the GM. A really nice touch.
The room itself was excellent. A lovely corner sofa, massive TV with Netflix and an egg chair made it feel genuinely comfortable and stylish rather than just a place to sleep. The bedding was wonderful and the towels were honestly some of the best quality I’ve come across in a hotel. The bathroom amenities were equally impressive. So many hotels have been quietly cutting back on this sort of thing over the years but here they had everything you could want and more.
The air con was a bit temperamental on arrival. With a wall of windows facing the sun the room got quite warm and it took a good 24 hours to properly cool down. It would make a real difference if it could be set to a lower temperature ahead of guests arriving, particularly in warmer weather.
There is some street noise and church bells every 15 minutes until midnight, worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper. That said, with the windows closed the sound insulation was very good, and the hotel thoughtfully provides a little kit with ear plugs and a sleep mask which was a nice touch.
Our suite included access to the Cara lounge which was a real highlight. The drinks and snacks were excellent and varied throughout the day, beer and wine on tap, juices, organic soft drinks, hot food, sweet treats, olives, nuts, crisps and plenty more besides.
Breakfast was another standout. Genuinely good quality food, nothing like the mass produced stuff you find in hotels all over the world.
The staff were excellent throughout. Even before arrival when I emailed to ask about upgrading our room, Kamile was brilliant and really helpful. Everyone we met in the hotel was the same. Warm, friendly and genuinely good at their jobs.
The decor and style deserves a mention too. Classically modern, stylish, warm and inviting. It’s the only hotel I’ve stayed at in Copenhagen so far but it’s a fantastic choice and when I return I already know exactly where I’ll be heading.
One gripe worth mentioning. The hotel policy is to clean rooms on request only, which is fine, but we asked at check in for our room to be serviced the following day, left the door hanger out and it still didn’t happen. Just a bit disappointing when you’ve made the effort to follow the process.
Location wise it’s ideal. Walking distance to the main train station and city centre, and Copenhagen generally is a wonderfully walkable city. There’s also a handy 7/11 in the same building if you need anything."
