"Worst hotel experience ever — I would give 1 star if I could.
I stayed at the Radisson Beach Resort with my husband and a group of friends to celebrate our birthdays — a trip we had been genuinely excited about for weeks. Having previously stayed at multiple Radisson properties around the world, we booked with confidence, expecting a certain level of service, atmosphere, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on every level.
From the moment we arrived, the tone was set — and not in a good way. The reception staff were cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming. There was no proper greeting, no warmth, and no offer of assistance with luggage. For a hotel that claims to offer a premium experience, the lack of basic hospitality was shocking.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel is extremely dull and lifeless. There was no music, no entertainment, and absolutely no energy anywhere on the property. It felt more like a quiet retirement setting than a holiday resort. If you are in your 20s, 30s, or even 40s and looking for a vibrant, enjoyable holiday with friends or your partner — this is not the place. The environment completely killed the celebratory mood of what was supposed to be a special birthday trip.
Things quickly escalated from disappointing to uncomfortable. At around 2pm, while getting ready in our room, we had music playing from a small phone speaker with the balcony door open — nothing excessive, nothing out of the ordinary for a holiday setting. Yet security came to our door to complain about the noise. At that point, it already felt unnecessary and overly strict.
The following day, our room was not cleaned at all. When we contacted reception to request fresh towels, the experience was honestly unbelievable. The receptionist, Christine, was dismissive, rude, and completely unhelpful — even stating she didn’t know where to get towels from. This is basic hotel service. We were then left waiting 35–40 minutes just to receive something that should have been readily available.
What made the situation worse was the constant feeling of being monitored and targeted. Simply standing on our balcony and having a normal conversation with my husband — while our friends were on the balcony next door — resulted in yet another complaint about us being “too loud.” At that point, it no longer felt like coincidence. It felt like we were being singled out.
This created a very uncomfortable and upsetting atmosphere for us. Instead of feeling relaxed and welcome, we felt judged, watched, and completely out of place. Sadly, the way we were treated began to feel discriminatory and, at times, racist. No guests should ever be made to feel like that — especially when they are behaving respectfully and simply trying to enjoy their holiday.
We raised these concerns with management, hoping for some level of understanding or resolution. Instead, we were met with complete indifference. Our concerns were dismissed, and we were essentially told, “If you’re not happy, you can leave.” This is absolutely unacceptable from any hotel, let alone one operating under an international brand name. There was no accountability, no apology, and no effort to improve our experience.
The issues didn’t stop there. The beach itself was very disappointing — dark, muddy sand and barely any available loungers, making it difficult to even relax by the sea. Our balcony was full of flies and mosquitoes and was not cleaned until we specifically requested it. General cleanliness across the hotel was also questionable — tables, floors, and common areas often felt dirty or poorly maintained.
Housekeeping overall was inconsistent at best. Basic standards were not met, and attention to detail was clearly lacking throughout our stay.
What makes this experience even more frustrating is that we chose this hotel based on positive past experiences with the brand. Instead of creating happy memories for our birthdays, this trip left us feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and honestly embarrassed that we recommended this hotel to our friends.

If you’re looking for a fun, lively, welcoming holiday — avoid this hotel. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had."
