Artemis Hotel Apartments

"This hotel is not good value for your hard earned money,food is not up to standard for a 4 star hotel. The hotel is well kept and spotlessy clean and well located and thats about it for the good things, O`and theres a curtesy bus to Fig Tree Bay ( the driver we had was a misery guts ). The All Inclusive package does not include water so to me is not all inclusive. Half the slides in the water park were blocked off so you could not use them. Protaras is nice , just stay at some other hotel"

"Firstly this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. We went for the last week of October. Weather glorious! Hotel was probably only 30% full when we arrived so no issue with sun beds etc and by midweek half the existing guests had left so a very quiet second half to the week which on one had was lovely but it also felt like the hotel gave up. Hotel was closing for the season on the Sunday. We were flying home Saturday and by Friday there was no music by the pool, no day time entertainment and food was average. They scrapped the food theme nights by Wednesday night, although Italian night on Friday was the best offering by far. No snacks at either of the 2 snack times on Saturday (our last day) despite having paid for an all inclusive for the week and being told we’d have all the facilities until departure from the hotel. Music back by the pool for our last day but the slides were closed. Waterpark is a bit of a stretch. It’s 2 slides. However the small pool is great for toddlers. Given the time of year the sun was going down behind the hotel by 3pm meaning the pool and lounger area was in the shade. Toddler pool area had direct sun until just after 4pm. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Daily maid service. Fresh towels daily. Our room was fairly big, separate rooms for the kids but sofa beds were hard. Nice size balcony. Staff were miserable. Made us feel a bit of an inconvenience at meal times requesting drinks. I really didn’t feel like I got value for money for what was priced and marketed as a 4* all inclusive. Evening entertainment was appalling. We went into Protaras and different bars every night which defeats the object of an all inclusive package. Hotel bar closed at 11pm. We asked for a bottle of water to take to the room in the evening but told we would need to pay! We ended up taking plastic cups up to bed and using the water we purchased at Nicks Bottle shop across the way (excellent cheap off licence) They would refill a bottle though. Evening seating area was in the lobby. Personally I felt like I was sitting in a corridor. Equally there were about 10 tables of 4 in there so heaven knows how they manage in summer peak season. Hopefully they use the outside space by the pool but even then that could get crowed. They did lay on a free shuttle bus into Protaras and the beach which is beautiful. This ran from 10am until 5pm. Protaras was a 10-15 min walk which in October was a nice temperature to walk around in. We didn’t let any of the negatives put us off. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and a great location. My worries about sunbed availability given previous reviews were thankfully unfounded but I would not come back here in summer peak season."

"Arrived at this hotel for one weeks stay in the October half term. 4 star it is not. I am afraid that although a fairly new hotel there is lots of room for improvements to be made. We booked a family room which was allocated on the first floor overlooking the road side which is at the front of the hotel. Room was good, spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Main bedroom was also spacious with a separate room for the kids which had x2 sofa beds in. Unfortunately these were rock hard and I would suggest them changing to x2 single beds. I think the kids would have struggled any longer than a week on these. Daily housekeeping was hit & miss even though you selected for this to be done on a digital display outside the room. When it was done they simply made the beds, emptied the bins and left fresh towels. I did not notice any actual cleaning of the bathroom or floors during our stay. Beach towels were provided but you could only change these in the morning up until 11am. Pool areas; the main pool was absolutely freezing. This wasn’t helped by the sun going off it after lunch but I do understands that we went late in the season. Sun beds awful, so uncomfortable no cushions on them and some already broken. Only x3 umbrellas on the grassy area round the pool which most people ended up on throughout the afternoon. Beware that the grass area gets very muddy. Kids waterpark/ splash park. This was in a separate area away from the main pool. Not all slides were open which was disappointing and the snack bar was closed so you would have to walk back to the main one if you wanted a drink. Food was only to be eaten in the snack bar and they were very strict on this. As soon as 5pm came they started to clear up round the pool closing the waterslides and making you feel as though you had to vacate the area. Kids club we saw once at the start of our holiday where there was one lady organising water polo and a game of some sort. Other than that we didn’t see any other daytime entertainment for the kids. Evening entertainment was poor. Live singers on at the side of the pool. We ended up venturing out every night. Food!! Disappointed with the lack of choices. They offered pork 4 nights in a row! Kids had a choice of nuggets and chips or fish fingers every single day and night!! All 3 meal times were not very appealing. My son struggled, having a dairy allergy, so we ended up eating out which was frustrating for us already paying to go all inclusive and ending up costing more by having to eat out. Drinks during the evening meal were only a choice of beer or wine nothing else alcoholic included. Not even allowed coffee after the meal! I feel there needs to be a big improvement on food and drink at the hotel to warrant a 4 star rating. Hotels location was a good 15 min walk away from everything in Protaras but a free shuttle bus was included in the daytime, which meant we could go to the beach if we wanted. Unfortunately we won’t be visiting this hotel again for a number of reasons. I hope that they take constructive criticism from the guest reviews and make the changes this hotel needs."
