Agadir Holidays

A Moroccan coastal paradise

Agadir was completely rebuilt after an earthquake destroyed the town in 1960. The result is a well thought-out, low-rise city, with green open squares and wide, palm-lined avenues. The resort is in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, and fronted by a huge crescent of sand, which unravels for some nine kilometres along the Atlantic shores. Holidays to Agadir showcase a place that seamlessly fuses old and new Morocco. The palm-lined seafront promenade is freckled with glossy restaurants and bars, and the marina lined with yachts. As for nightlife, it’s not for nothing that this place known as ‘the Miami of Morocco’. Beachfront bars with resident DJs and swish casinos all get in on the act. Elsewhere, though, there are souks scented with incense and packed with locally made treasures, and authentic restaurants dishing up exotic fare.

Your Agadir questions, answered

Absolutely. The sandy beach is ripe for playtime and offers the A to Z of watersports. And nearby Crocoparc makes for a top day out.
A real mix of modern restaurants serving Med-style classics, plus cafés dishing up Moroccan specialities like lamb tagine. Expect lots of seafood, too.
Along with the boutiques around the harbour, don’t miss hypnotic Souk El Had. Bigger than a football stadium, it’s packed with lanterns, carpets and spices.
