Imerovigli Holidays

A dreamy resort in Santorini

It’s with good reason that Imerovigli is known as the ‘balcony of the Aegean’. Its lofty vantage point on top of a dormant volcanic caldera on Santorini’s northwestern coast affords spectacular vistas over the sapphire-coloured sea, from which distant islets look like tiny stepping stones.

Imerovigli holidays are for travellers who appreciate not only beautiful views but also relish peace and quiet. Wandering along its romantic winding streets, and admiring higgledy-piggledy whitewashed houses and distinctive blue-domed Cycladic churches, on holidays to Imerovigli you’ll enjoy absolute serenity. The capital Fira is just a short walk away along the caldera’s edge, and has plenty of restaurants and bars if you feel like experiencing a little more bustle. But later, on your return, when the sun sets in spectacular fashion off to the west, you’ll understand why Imerovigli is a lofty slice of heaven in its own right.

Your Imerovigli questions, answered

There's any number of lovely bars or restaurants with terraces ideal for horizon gazing, but you can’t go wrong with the view from in front of Agios Georgios church.
The walk should take just a little over half an hour – depending on how fast you walk, how many photos you stop to take and whether or not you pause for a drink.
Because of its clifftop location there isn't a beach in the village as such, but a 10-minute drive away you'll discover the quiet Pori beach.
