Visit the parks
There are many great parks downtown, and Kongs Have (The King's Garden) and Østre Anlæg are among the best. Kongs Have is one of the oldest in Denmark; it’s well-manicured and fit for the royals – it’s the King’s garden, after all.
Take a dip
It’s amazing to be in a city where you can swim downtown – Copenhageners take full advantage of it year-round. Check out Ofelia Plads beach for an upbeat vibe and a prime swimming location.

Indeed it is! Nyhavn used to be one of the hubs for the merchant ships of yesteryear. Now, with its famously colourful facades, Nyhavn has become a compulsory stop on the Copenhagen bucket list. Although it can be busy with tourists, finding a place in one of the many outdoor dining venues is usually easy. Get your camera ready!

Indre By is simply full of life. There’s plenty of entertainment, as you would expect in a city centre, but there are also lots of quiet winding streets. Even if you’re not a ‘city’ person, you’ll still find it a relaxing place to be.

As it’s the heart of the city, it’s surrounded by all the main central neighbourhoods and the famous waterfront (both the ocean and lake). The Indre By area includes Christianshavn, Holmen, and Refshaleøen as well.
