Copenhagen Admiral Hotel

"We stayed at Hotel Admiral in Copenhagen as a couple. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stylish and modern design. It is certainly not cheap, but we really liked the atmosphere. The food was good, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, there was one major issue that really affected our stay: the cleanliness. Our room was cleaned very poorly and only superficially. We found stains and dust in several places, especially under the cushions and in areas that looked like they had not been properly vacuumed or cleaned for quite some time. The toilet seat was also in a very unpleasant condition. Unfortunately, we had a similar experience with the restroom in the restaurant. It looked as though it had not been cleaned since the morning. This is very disappointing, especially for a hotel in this price range and with such high standards. The design, food, and staff were great, but the cleanliness and housekeeping definitely need significant improvement. In general, we also noticed during our stay that many places in Copenhagen were unfortunately not particularly clean."

"We booked three rooms at the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel via Booking.com for the stay from July 19 to 23, 2026. We were departing from Bologna, Italy, on a direct flight to Copenhagen on the evening of the 19th. From the start, the hotel showed absolute disorganization and incompetence. As documented, we sent emails inquiring about airport-to-hotel transfers and never received any reply. Shortly before boarding, SAS airline unilaterally cancelled our flight. We were rebooked on a flight departing two days later, with a layover in Munich and a total travel time of roughly twelve hours. With our stay ending on July 23, this made the trip completely unviable, as we would lose almost the entire reservation. The moment we learned of the cancellation, we acted immediately: Requested a free cancellation directly via the Booking.com platform; Messaged the hotel directly within minutes to explain the situation; Followed up hours later, offering official proof of the flight cancellation; Fully documented all correspondence and timestamps; Booking.com raised no objections; Highlighted a similar incident we previously had in Peru, where the hotel was understanding and waived all charges. Despite all this, the hotel refused the cancellation request, marked us as a "no-show," and charged the first night's fee—6,453.00 Danish kroner (approx. R$ 5,330.41 / US$ 1,000)—even though they were notified well before charging us and we never set foot on the property. We followed up days later with both the hotel and Booking.com, but the management upheld the charge and refused any refund. This was not a cancellation of convenience. It was an undeniable case of force majeure, supported by clear evidence provided in advance. The hotel showed zero goodwill, especially considering they had ample room availability throughout that entire period and suffered no real loss. When we complained via Booking.com, the Admiral claimed they would look into the case. It was merely for show, as they stubbornly maintained the charge behind the scenes. It is unacceptable for a hotel to treat guests this way—they seem desperate for revenue. Due to this experience, we have completely lost interest in visiting Denmark, if this reflects their standard of hospitality."
