"We stayed at the hotel in mid-April, arriving on Orthodox Easter Sunday. Overall the hotel is quite nice and has a good vibe.
On arrival, myself and my son were the only guests checking in, but the receptionist looked quite flustered. She asked for our names and passports and gave me a form to fill out. Once I had finished, she simply put the key card on the counter and declared, "You are checked in." There was no "hello" or "welcome," no directions to the room, and no information about the hotel or the local area. Nothing!
Fortunately, we were familiar with the hotel as we had stayed here last year. At that time, the receptionist was a British Cypriot lady who was absolutely amazing—super friendly and cheerful; nothing was too much trouble for her. It’s a shame she wasn’t there for this stay.
The Room
We were in Room 318, which had a pool view. This was lovely as the balcony gets the sun for most of the day. There were a couple of small snags in the room, but I didn’t bother reporting them to reception as I didn’t think the staff would care. The issues were minor and merely cosmetic: a couple of cracked tiles, one near the shower tap that made the fixture slightly loose. While the beds were very comfortable, they were incredibly noisy, squeaking and creaking with every little movement.
The hotel overall is quite noisy. When guests in the rooms above move around, it sounds as if they are dragging furniture across the floor - maybe they were 🤷🏻♀️
Dining & Facilities
Breakfast was okay with pretty standard choices, nothing special. The dining room can get a bit chaotic, there are arrows on the floor to indicate a one-way system, but no one follows them and it becomes a bit of a free-for-all. We didn’t eat at the hotel at any other time. We didn't engage with the activities, simply because we didn't feel that welcomed this time. I had looked forward to getting a massage, as the one I had during our last stay was amazing, but I didn't bother.
Location
The hotel is about a 15 to 20-minute walk away from the main strip, and it's about a 5 to 10-minute walk away from the boardwalk and the closest beach. There are a couple of nice restaurants and bars close to the hotel. While there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and things to do in the area, everything is quite a walk away; because of this, I would advise using taxis or hiring a car. Taxi to or from the strip ranges between €10-€14.
Housekeeping
The maids were all very friendly and visited every day. We only opted for a full clean once and just asked for fresh towels on the other days. Regarding the towels: we received two bath towels and two hand towels. The hand towels were okay, but the bath towels were inconsistent; one would be new and fluffy while the other felt like sandpaper (the kind I relegate to cleaning jobs at home). This was the case with every change.
One odd occurrence: on check-out day at around 9:30 AM, a maid we hadn't seen before let herself in—even though our **Do Not Disturb** light was on. She seemed shocked we were still in the room and hurried off without saying anything. Found this a bit odd.
Check-out Experience
On checking out, the same receptionist from our arrival was busy dealing with a guest’s issue. When I saw an opportunity, I asked if I could borrow the luggage scales. She just shrugged at me. I repeated myself, and she said, "You'll have to find them in the luggage room," but didn't tell me where that was. The luggage room door was wide open and unsecured, with suitcases and bags inside —but no scales.
I went back to reception, but she was still busy so I waited. When she finally finished, she started serving someone who had just walked up rather than acknowledging me. At that point, my patience was thin; I put the key card on the desk, declared "Checked out!"
While we sat in the lobby waiting for our transfer, she bellowed my name across the room with a look of pure annoyance to tell me our transport had arrived. As we walked past the desk, I said "Thank you," but she didn’t even acknowledge me. Rude!
Summary
Would I stay here again? Maybe, because it is cheap and Ihave no grand expectations. Nothing really stands out, and it wasn't even close to the experience we had last year, but I wouldn't rule it out completely."
