"We and my best friend stayed here for 4 nights towards the end of November.
The stay was fairly average for my liking.
The hotel, whilst good, is most certainly tired.
I appreciate we did not come in peak season however it doesn’t excuse it for the lack of service.
Rooms:
The room was spacious and clean. The housekeeping would sometimes turn up as late as 3-4pm but nonetheless the room was still cleaned and cleaned well daily. I was a bit annoyed that we had to pay 50TND deposit for a safe key - in a 4 star hotel I’d expect it to be available to use free of deposits/charges. There was also no beach towels provided unless a deposit was paid again. There was no coffee/tea making facilities in the room nor was it possible to get an iron - laundry service is available bur for a fee, so we ended up with wrinkly clothes throughout our stay - great.
Food:
Food was indeed delicious - however the choice was incredibly scarce. Whilst delicious, the food was also the same every night, just dressed ever so slightly differently. The flavours didn’t change. The selection didn’t change. There was a total of 3 types of desserts each night and only 1 type of fruit - appalling selection for a 4 star stay if I’m honest. Snack bar was none existent with a couple of plates of sandwiches placed in the main bar on a windowsill.
I must admit the restaurant staff was super attentive for the most part and a pleasure to be around.
Reception:
The initial welcome wasn’t promising. We waited for our room for almost 2 hours though check in is from 3pm, we got there at around 2:30pm and didn’t get our room till gone past 4pm. Overall the staff at reception were friendly and welcoming apart from one lady, I don’t know her name but she seemed older than the other one who was superb.
Animation team:
They are what they make this place!!
I have seen someone say “animation team are trying to do everything with nothing” and it couldn’t be closer to the truth! They were absolutely fantastic!! Enzo, Mario, Sasha, Totti and Tutti - absolutely fantastic crew! Had it not been for them the stay I would say would have been closer to disaster - these guys absolutely deserve every penny they get paid and 10 times more! I’d be happy to come back should I know they are still working there, even if the rest of the hotel isn’t great. They are the life of that place.
Activities & entertainment:
We managed to go at a time when the olives were in the harvest season - the hotel has 2 trees which we were offered to help pick and in return we got some freshly pressed olive oil from our own hard work which was nothing short of fantastic. Other than that daytime activities involved regular activities you’d expect at an all inclusive hotel. Night time entertainment was mediocre on most nights with not much going on apart from the animation team absolutely setting the place alive and getting everyone to dance, participate and generally just have fun. Though they had a fantastic singer on the first night who truly impressed me - make sure to bring him back!
The outdoors of the hotel is pretty from afar but once you start walking through it and looking up close you realise that it is indeed very tired. Broken tiles wherever you turn, some tiles even missing in the pool itself.
Would I come back here? Maybe to say hello to the animation team again - they made memories to last. To say? Most likely not."
