"Sorry this is a bit of a long one but I didn’t want to miss anything out.
We arrived at the hotel on 12 July 2026 at about 20:30, tired after our journey, and were instantly made to feel welcome by the reception team. Omar checked us in smoothly, and while we waited we were given a cold glass of lemon juice – absolutely refreshing after travelling in the heat. We were then escorted to our room on the first floor, which was lovely and spacious, with more than enough hanging space and storage for all our clothes and belongings – such a practical, well‑thought‑out space.
The staff are easily this hotel’s biggest strength – friendly, hardworking and genuinely caring, everyone went above and beyond:
• At breakfast, Ben Zid always had our table ready with coffee and juice before we sat down, and even taught us how to say “good morning” and “thank you” in his language – such a lovely personal touch.
• At lunch in the snack bar, Monem looked after us perfectly – and look out for Omar there too, you can’t miss him with that amazing big smile!
• For dinner, Oumayma Mbarki greeted us with a warm hug and had our table ready; on her days off Bechir Ben Naya took over and was just as attentive.
• Halima kept our room spotless, changed towels daily and was always so cheerful – five‑star service every time.
• The animation team work incredibly hard all day long, running aqua gym, volleyball, water polo and lots more to keep everyone including the children entertained!
The pools are kept clean, though it’s worth noting that there can sometimes be a bit of a struggle to find a free sun bed. The hotel also has a lovely adults‑only infinity pool, perfect for cooling down and relaxing in peace. Down at the beach, there are plenty of sun loungers available so you can always find a comfortable spot right by the sea.
We also tried the spa and would highly recommend it. Imen at the spa reception is so professional, and also wonderfully cheeky and fun – we loved chatting with her. I had two massages, both done by Kader, and my husband’s were with Nessrine – both therapists were fantastic, the treatments were amazing, and as an extra nice touch you get to use the spa pool when you book a treatment.
Dining was excellent with plenty of variety to enjoy. The main buffet restaurant offers a great choice of dishes with something for everyone. We also tried the à la carte Italian and Tunisian restaurants, both with attentive table service – if you visit the Italian, make sure you arrive hungry, as the portions are very generous; we were absolutely stuffed by the time we left! The snack bar is a great convenient option if you don’t want to walk up to the buffet; it serves a good selection of lunches and even has an ice cream cart. At 3 pm there’s an extra treat with chapati, pancakes and huge doughnuts on offer.
✅ Pros
• Exceptionally friendly, hardworking and attentive staff
• Spacious rooms with plenty of storage space
• Clean pools, plus a lovely quiet adults‑only infinity pool
• Plenty of sun loungers available on the beach
• Excellent dining variety: great buffet, à la carte options and convenient snack bar
• Fun daily activities run by the animation team
⚠️ Cons
• Can be difficult to secure a sun bed by the pool at busy times
• For a five‑star hotel, the air conditioning is disappointing. When temperatures hit 44°C outside, our room never cooled below 26°C and felt quite humid – this was the case in public areas too. Tip: bring a small portable fan and pack light clothing, as you will feel the heat.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday here and would definitely recommend Iberostar Selection Kantaoui Bay to anyone visiting Tunisia – the team really make this place stand out! We will be visiting again."
