"Travelled with my brother, for a week of R&R.
Arrived mid-morning on 3rd May to a really nice open reception area, suitcases were put to one side, check in was super quick, paid the room tax and was told one room was ready and one was going to be about another hour.
No big deal, we took our own suitcases to my room and had a walk around until his room was ready.
Greeting staff and reception staff were really friendly and helpful, as this was our first visit to this hotel.
Rooms are dated but spacious, comfortable and have plenty of storage, mini fridge (unstocked), TV on wall (hardly any English channels), plenty of sockets, safe in cupboard above fridge.
If you want a kettle with tea/coffee etc., then just ask at reception.
Bathroom is in need of a major upgrade, the bath is abit lethal (it hurts if you slip in it!), anyone with mobility issues may struggle to get in and out.
Played the okey-kokey with the shower as it kept running hot and cold, a few people had mentioned this to hotel staff and it was sorted the next day.
Toilet flushes, clean towels and toilet roll left, hairdryer on the wall (it’s not a whizzy one!).
Beds and pillows were comfortable, decent lighting and a nice view from the balcony.
Entertainment staff are nice and friendly, they engage and do take no for an answer. Some people are happy to join in and some just want to chill, either way it’s a nice vibe about the place.
Bar staff are great (Ashraf looked after us), I tried a few of the cocktails and I can tell you that they are not watered down 🙈
Breakfast is served at the smaller restaurant opposite the large pool, plenty of choice with egg, omelette, waffles and doughnut stations.
Plenty of choice, fresh fruit and bread, yogurts, tea and coffee machines, bright orange orange juice 😂
Lunch is served in the main restaurant, at both ends, you can sit where you like. Food is abundant and really well cooked, some of it looks bland but actually tastes really really nice, give it a go!
The wraps and soft tacos were a massive hit, also the bright green and bright blue ice creams 😋
There are two sittings for the evening (6:30 & 8pm), you’ll be given a choice on your first night, and you’ll have the same table for the duration of your holiday. Some people complained about this but tbh, I can’t see what the issue is with this 🤷♀️
Waiter service for drinks, they remember what you have, all of the staff were friendly and helpful, they made a fuss of my brother for his 40th birthday (they sang happy birthday and personalised a big cake!), it was a nice touch.
Again, the food is plentiful, tasty and really well cooked, I’ve never had tummy issues on any of my holidays to Tunisia, and I think that’s a testament to the food/chefs.
The only issue I have is that the entertainment team get in your face abit while you’re eating to promote the shows, they are friendly and chatty and ask how your day has been, but I’d rather eat in peace, that’s just my take on it.
Plenty of sun bathing space, by the pools or on the grass - a mattress will be brought to you, or you go get one from the rack near the main pool bar.
We didn’t get hotel towels as we had our own, but you could get these from the hotel shop for a deposit, which you get back when you return the towels.
Karim at the pool bar was brilliant, don’t think our drinks were ever none existent, a little tip goes a long way and he does put a good shift in!
He remembers what you have to drink and chats abit, friendly guy.
Beach bar opened at 9am, pool bar opened at 10am. We didn’t venture on the beach much apart from to walk up and down, it was a tad windy and I’m not mad keen on the use of animals on holiday (camel rides being offered).
The beach itself is spotless, plenty of sun beds and shade, nice clear water and light coloured
sand.
Hotel itself and grounds are clean, the staff are always working, rooms were cleaned every day, bins emptied, clean sheets, no issues at all.
If you buy bottled water from the shop, take a bottle opener. You’ll be better off taking a reusable water bottle and filling it up at the various water stations in the hotel.
I didn’t buy anything at the shop apart from some throat sweets and paracetamol as I came down with a cold on the Friday 😷 my brother bought a vape which was €28!
We didn’t take dinar, didn’t see the point with it being a closed currency, euros were accepted and worked just as well.
Opted for a return taxi through holiday extras, worked well and beat the queues - door to door service and took about 50mins for £77 total.
I’m sure there’s more I could say but we had a lovely holiday and would definitely return.
It’s a hotel that is in need of a facelift, but they know this and are open to suggestion on how to make it better.
If in doubt just book it and make your own mind up."
