"Just returned from a weeks stay at the One Resort Premium. Overall a very nice hotel, with extremely friendly staff. Check the last part of my review if you plan to visit soon as there are building works daily at the neighbouring hotel!
Staff: The reception staff are excellent, every single one of them are exceptional and always happy to help. The waiting staff are a delight, especially Majid in the main restaurant, he looked after us all week and is a credit the the hotel. No matter who we spoke to or met, everyone was very friendly, from gardeners, porters and housekeeping (who may I add do an amazing job), and the lovely lady in the Towel Hut and at the tattoo kiosk.
Room: We had a standard double room in the main building, room 222, which was very nice, lots of room and overlooked the main restaurant outdoor deck, and one of the main pools. Nicely located for reception and the restaurant. We also had a slight sea view which was nice. balcony was very large.
The Pools: Immaculate! Always clean and so inviting. The infinity pool is fabulous and definitely worth a dip, but water is a little cool in the winter months (which is expected).
Food and Drink: Food was enjoyable but was quite repetitive but expected at an All Inclusive resort, although not as vast as some I have experienced. The puddings are a little lacking and the fruit on offer was quite boring. In all the food was what you expect of a 3/4 star hotel. The speciality Brazilian restaurant was ok, but again not as good as others I have experienced. Make sure you book as soon as you arrive if you can. Now in my opinion the drinks were very poor, unless you drink wine or lager there was a poor choice of cocktails unfortunately, and the measures of Baileys in the Piano bar are comical, genuinely it was a mouthful of baileys in a shot glass.
TIP! take your own tea and coffee as you will be so disappointed with the in house options trust me lol. First decent tea I had was on the plane back home haha. The express bar is a handy place for snacks out of hours, although not a massive choice. The BBQ grille near the infinity pool has a decent choice, but the flies bothering you whilst you eat are a bit annoying. There is an ice-cream vendor at the side of the express bar (free) which was nice, especially on the warmer days. The sports bar was ok, always a footy match on the main screens, but not a lot of atmosphere unfortunately, also the drinks were hit and miss, one night we asked for mojito which was really nice and yet the following night it was not available and no reason as to why, I could understand if they had no ingredients but it was a flat no when asking for one? Similar thing in the piano bar, we asked for baileys (served in a shot glass remember lol) but one night it was available and the next it wasn't, very odd.
Entertainment: The animation team were always around inviting people to take part in various events, but always pleasant and not hounding you, very nice team. Again based on other hotels we have stopped at the evening entertainment wasn't the best unfortunately. There also didn't seem to be any hype around any entertainment, and we never really knew what was going on in the evenings as very hit and miss.
Beach: The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the beach, absolutely stunning! We relaxed on the beach daily and swam in the cool Mediterranean sea. The sea was a beautiful turquoise and clear water meant you could see the little fish swimming around your feet. There is a gradual slope in to the water and no sudden drop. The sand is soft and no pebbles to walk over. There are a few beach sellers who appear through the day but a friendly no thank you was enough for them to move on, they are not allowed to approach your sunlounges and the security staff on the beach do keep an eye out so you are not hounded. Credit to the security team who do an amazing job.
There is free Wi-Fi that works in almost every part of the resort, even down at the beach. A Spa on site which was reasonably priced but we didn't use the facilities. There is a small row of shops (3 in total) near the restaurant, the little jewellery shop was ok, prices seem to be the same as the airport and shops near the hotel so worth checking before buying. The gent in there was pleasant, the other 2 shops are overseen by another gent who was ok but blew hot and cold depending on what day it was. He often seemed annoyed if you did not have change and most of the items in the shop were overpriced, for instance a tube of pringles at almost 18 TND (£4.50!), you can haggle but again be warned he will scowl at you haha.
Easyjet Rep was a character, again pleasant enough but just do your homework on the trips offered as they are cheaper on the Easyjet app.
BE WARNED, I would contact your travel agent or the hotel directly if you plan to travel in the next few weeks as whilst we were there, there was building work from the hotel next door and the noise was HORRENDOUS. Drilling of concrete and trucks being loaded with rubble all day every day! Nobody seemed to know how long this was expected to last, and there was not a lot the hotel team could do, just shocked at Easyjet for not pre-warning their customers about this prior to departure, or even once on site when ultimately it was too late. We also had a room that directly overlooked the building work so we were unable to sit on the balcony through the day, and when in the room shutting the balcony doors did little to limit the noise.
If asked if I would return, unfortunately, I doubt we would based on our experience, however, once the building work next door is completed, the hotel is pleasant and definitely worth a trip, but sadly not somewhere we would regularly return to."
