"Fantastic Family Holiday with Great Pool Vibes — Loved Our Stay!
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Stay Date: August / September 2026
Travel Type: Family Holiday (6 Guests, 2 Rooms)
We have just had an absolutely amazing family holiday at Djerba Golf Resort & Spa. The kids had the time of their lives in the pool, everyone relaxed together, and honestly, we were so reluctant to go home! As with any resort, there are a few minor areas that could easily be improved, but overall this place provided a brilliant, stress-free base for our family trip.
Here is our detailed breakdown across key areas:
1. Arrival & Reception
The Highlights: Check-in was straightforward and smooth. Special mention must go to Hamida at reception, who gave us an exceptionally warm and thoughtful welcome. Since our second room was still being prepared upon arrival around lunchtime, she immediately invited us to enjoy the facilities, head to the pool, and most importantly, go straight in for lunch. She was so constructive with local advice and even kindly helped me practice and improve my French! It was a high-touch first impression that instantly put us at ease.

2. Rooms & Accommodation
The Highlights: Housekeeping deserves immense praise—our rooms were kept spotless to an exceptionally high standard every single day, with fresh sheets and immaculate bed-making. Our balcony with the garden view was peaceful and lovely.
Reality Check on Online Reviews: Pushing back against overly critical online reviews claiming the rooms are "too tired"—the rooms are completely functional, cool, and comfortable. On a resort holiday, you only use your room to sleep and shower! We were out by 8 AM and spent our days between the pool, beach, and bars, only returning for a relaxing afternoon nap.
Minor Improvement: The bathrooms do look slightly aged. A quick pass of fresh re-grouting around tile edges would instantly refresh the space to match the housekeeping team's stellar cleaning standards.

Pool Area & Facilities
The Highlights: The pool is easily the crown jewel of the resort. The daily vibe is super chilled, with great background music that lets you completely switch off from life's stresses. The animation team keeps things fun with opt-in activities like Aqua Zumba.
Zero Sunbed Stress: We never once had to fight for a deckchair or parasol, easily settling in as a family every day. The poolside bar is just 20–30 yards away, and the late-afternoon sandwich service brought around the pool was a fantastic, thoughtful touch.
Minor Improvement: Depth signage around the pool could be clearer, and adding a couple more lifeguards during peak afternoon hours would give extra peace of mind.

Dining & Vegetarian Catering
The Highlights: The food is heavily Mediterranean and local Tunisian, reflecting the resort’s primary Italian guest demographic. The local Tunisian dishes were wonderfully flavorful and a buffet highlight, and the outdoor dining area near the foyer is a lovely spot for meals.
Vegetarian Experience: As a strict vegetarian family, staff were helpful in guiding us when asked. However, dish labeling for dietary requirements (vegetarian, allergens, meat stock) needs major improvement across the buffet so guests don't have to guess or ask constantly.
Constructive Feedback: Non-local dishes lacked basic seasoning. Additionally, the rule stating guests eating at the Beach Bar cannot also use the main restaurant during the same mealtime feels unnecessarily restrictive for an All-Inclusive resort.
Specialty Dining Suggestion: The booking-only Pizzeria is great, but operating the separate Italian restaurant space only on Saturdays duplicates effort. It would make far more sense to merge pasta/pizza into the Pizzeria venue (with direct host-stand booking), freeing up the main building space to launch an Oriental restaurant or a dedicated, full-course authentic Tunisian venue.

Beach & Coastline Access
The Highlights: Safe and easy access via a private, dedicated complex walkway through the grounds. Having recreational spots along the way—like the French boules (pétanque) court—made walking down to the beach a fun family ritual.
The Beach: Absolutely gorgeous—online photos do not do it justice! At low tide, shallow sandbars form out in the water, creating spectacular photo spots and safe wading for kids.
Sunbeds: While the front two rows carry a small booking fee, the complimentary third row provided plenty of comfort and great views.

Entertainment & Animation Team
The Highlights: The animation team works tirelessly to keep energy high. We joined in on volleyball, water polo, pool exercises, and beach games, having a fantastic time as a family.
Language Dynamics: Entertainment is heavily tailored in Italian. While understandable given guest demographics, English is definitely a secondary priority, which can occasionally make non-Italian guests feel a bit left out.
The Missed Opportunity (Themed Nights): Guests made a real effort to dress up for the White Party and Tunisian Night. Unfortunately, both felt staged for social media—a few photos were taken, cocktails were placed out, and within an hour everything was packed away. In contrast, on Friday night they brought out a DJ until midnight and everyone danced and had a blast! Management should apply that Friday night formula to the White and Tunisian nights: keep the music flowing, keep the bar open, and let guests actually party late into the night.

Bar & Beverage Staff
The Highlights: The bar team works insanely hard in 37°C heat, especially on the outdoor bars, making sure everyone stays hydrated. The soft drink selection is phenomenal. A massive special mention to the gentleman Omar working the outdoor bar area—he was an absolute legend, incredibly accommodating, and brought brilliant energy every day!

Summary of "Quick Wins" for Hotel Management
Extend Themed Parties: Turn the White Party and Tunisian Night into real, late-night dancing events with a DJ, rather than 60-minute photo ops.
Clearer Dietary Labels: Add clear "Vegetarian / Vegan / Allergen" tags to all buffet dishes.
Re-purpose Specialty Dining: Merge the Italian menu into the Pizzeria and use the satellite space for a new culinary theme (e.g., Oriental or authentic Tunisian).
Bathroom Touch-ups: Fresh re-grouting in guest bathrooms to match the world-class effort of the housekeeping team.
Final Verdict: We had a memorable, relaxing, and happy family holiday.
Thank you to all the hardworking team members at Djerba Golf Resort & Spa for taking such good care of us!"
