"Recently visited this hotel as a family with an 11 year old & 11 month old.
We booked this hotel well in advance as I wanted a holiday booked for the end of my maternity leave,
We booked via Jet2 and opted for an All inclusive as I felt that would be easier with the baby.
The Hotel-
The first thing to report on the hotel that I had not seen on many other reviews is that it’s a real strange mix of residential apartments and hotel apartments- it almost felt like a self catering AirBNB room but without a kitchen.
Our room was huge and very spacious, travel cot was in the room on arrival and room generally very clean and tidy. We had one day where we weren’t left any clean towels and a bed was unmade but after realising half way through the day I reported to reception and this was quickly resolved!
We were situated in a room overlooking the bins which was slightly annoying with noise / smell from the balcony but we aren’t a family that spend a lot of time in the room anyway (room 004)
Their are a lot of steps but once you find your way around you can get access to most places via slopes with the pram- the path next to the football pitch through the wooded area is slightly longer to get anywhere but usually the easily access route.
We do usually feel quite comfortable letting the 11 year old roam around on his own but with the building being mixed with residential it felt slightly strange and he only went off on his own to pre arranged activities with the kids club / in the pool.
The pool itself was fine! Not too difficult to get a sunbed, not too policed so kids could still have fun and a good time!
The only uncleanliness around the pool was from guests who don’t clean up after themselves!
The chill out bar on the marina poses the best views and it’s a shame that children can’t access until after 7pm but this is where the evening entertainment is hosted, we called in once or twice and it seemed nice but we like to venture out and explore.
Food & Drink-
On the first day we made it to the last 10 mins of breakfast and after that we didn’t rush back again once.
The snack bar by the pool serves late breakfast snacks from 10:30 & lunch items from 12:30.
The lunch at the snack bar was ‘ok’ but we often found ourselves going to the Mercadona supermarket 10 mins walk away on the harbour to get cheap snacks to eat ourselves by the pool (crisps, bread, aioli etc)
We did go for lunch at the main restaurant once or twice which was surprisingly nice but we like to travel out and each evening ate out in Cala D’Or or Cala Egos- luckily my Vinted selling on maternity leave allowed enough in the budget to eat out so cannot comment on the evening meals!
Drinks are basic and come in very thin plastic cups that don’t always look very clean.
The beer and soft drinks are self serve but staff at the bar come hard to find if you would like wine or spirits.
The area-
The location is lovely, right on the marina and around a 20 min walk into Cala D’Or. Even with a pram is ok with a drink stop in the way to cool off.
The free shuttle through the day to Cala Gran beach is wonderful but the queue for the minibus can get busy when it starts at 10am.
The Ting Ting train stops at the hotel but timing can be slightly unpredictable to the schedule so don’t always bank on it! It’s worth the €10/11 as a family to save the walk into town in the heat if you have had a long day!
My husband and son did a jet ski trip with the Jet ski vice just outside on the harbour which was expensive but well worth it.
We also did the starfish boat tour from Es Forti beach (10/15 mins walk) which was wonderful but do be cautious if you get seasick!
To round up- if I was visiting Cala D’Or again I would opt for somewhere more central in a self catering / b&b board- food and drink in the town and local area I felt pretty reasonable and we could have made our budget work eating out in comparison to what we had paid for the all inclusive.
If you have this booked I’m sure you will still have a wonderful holiday as their is so much in the area to make the most of and staff are friendly and helpful."
