"I stayed at H10 Ocean Dunas for the first time as a solo guest for 11 nights on a Half Board basis from 3-14 December 2025. My room (204) was a Junior Suite overlooking the swimming pool. The key thing for me was to enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday which I was certainly able to do, thanks to the hotel’s welcoming and friendly ambience.
Although I had previously visited Corralejo during short ferry trips from Lanzarote, this was the first time Corralejo was my base for the entire holiday.
Summary assessment:
I had an excellent experience staying at H10 Ocean Dunas, so I give it 5 stars.
More detail:
* Staff *
Always the most important aspect of any hotel. All staff are a credit to the hotel. Every one of them was friendly, polite, helpful and professional. Many were also good fun and humorous. As a solo traveller, all the staff quickly made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I won’t mention names simply because there were too many to remember; also, I want to avoid unintentionally omitting the names of any staff…all brilliant!
* Guests *
Most guests were friendly and always on hand for a nice chat. This aspect made for a good atmosphere and helped me as a solo guest to relax even more.
* Room and Cleaning *
I stayed in a Junior Suite on the upper floor, Room 204. Reception was located diagonally to my right looking out from my balcony. La Oliva Restaurant and La Terrasse were situated diagonally to my left from my balcony. This room got the morning up until around 1.30 pm when I was there in early December.
Daily room cleaning, done by two or three different housekeepers, was excellent. They all work hard, are efficient at their job and are very friendly. Gracias a todas las limpiadoras. As a bonus, I learned some new Spanish words and phrases by chatting to them 😊
* Cleanliness *
The entire hotel is spotlessly clean, thanks to all the excellent cleaners, pool attendants, gardeners, and all other maintenance/technical staff. They work so hard, and you can see they take pride in their work. I am slowly learning bits of Spanish every day – un poco de español cada día – so it was nice to be able to chat with a few of them. Excuse my Spanish, but I’m gradually getting there 😊
* Service *
Service provided by all reception staff was excellent. Service provided by all the waiters in the main restaurant was of an equally high standard. The same applies to the snack bar staff beside the restaurant.
* Food *
The food was delicious. I was impressed with the variety of dishes on offer. I never experienced the “bit repetitive after one week” sentiment that is often expressed by guests in any establishment. I was here for 11 nights and had a different main course on each occasion. Plenty, plenty variety! About the temperature of the food, I always found it to be hot. Well done chefs! (many establishments fail the “temperature test”!)
* Entertainment/Animation/Activities *
This hotel is for adults only. There was no entertainment, but I didn’t come here for that anyway. I wanted tranquillity and relaxation which I got.
* Swimming Pool *
The pool is debatably on the small side but ideal for me. OK, I agree the water is a bit cold but it’s refreshing once you start swimming. I used the pool several times. Very invigorating. Felt good afterwards. (I understand that towards the end of my holiday the pool was heated to a warmer temperature.) It’s also worth mentioning that, during my stay, there were no sunbed wars around the pool 😊
* Hotel Location *
H10 Ocean Dunas is uniquely located – you’re in the heart of Corralejo and yet within the hotel grounds it’s an oasis of peace, calm and tranquillity. Perfect for complete relaxation. There are many beaches nearby, but at one end of Calle La Red – about 50 metres, not even a two-minute walk – you ‘ll find the beautiful sandy beach of Playa de los Verilitos, popular for swimming, surfing & beachfront bars. I also visited the charming and picturesque town of El Cotillo using the public transport (“guagua”). The bus stop is about 300 metres from the hotel, real handy. Buses to and from El Cotillo run on an hourly basis.
* Value for money *
Overall, H10 Ocean Dunas offers reasonable value for money, although I booked this hotel with Jet2 over a year in advance of my stay. That meant I was able to lock in a good price. I’ve been looking at prices for 2026 and 2027, and I must say they have increased significantly. I am not sure at this stage, but this aspect might be the one and only factor that would prevent me from returning to the hotel, much as I would love to!
* Suggestions *
In keeping with the continuous improvement ethos…
Swimming pool – at the shallowest end, it would be nice to remove the entry steps/metal railings and replace these with a gently sloping walk-in feature?
La Oliva restaurant – the black boards listing food items is a nice feature; however, it is sometimes difficult to relate these items to food items physically on the tables. An easy solution would be to number each board item with the same number of the corresponding food item on the table.
Lifts – I believe that the installation of at least one lift is much needed, especially for people with mobility issues who are not given a room at ground level.
* Summary *
H10 Ocean Dunas Club Hotel fully deserves its official 4-star rating. Overall, I had an excellent holiday experience at the hotel. If I’m able to return next year, it would be late November/early December. We shall see. (It’s all down to cost)
