"H10 Ocean Dunas, visited Oct 22nd for 14 nights, offered a glass of cava on arrival from the very nice receptionist, was provided with the information about how the breakfast and dinner worked and where our rooms were.
Entering the room you could smell it was damp and it was exceptional warm in the room, thought the smell would go away but It didn’t (room 202) there was always a strange smell in the toilet and it was a bit dirty, with evidence that the skirtings hadn’t been cleaned in sometime, this is something that remained a feature during our stay.
The room continued to be exceptionally warm and this continued right through our entire stay, it was an absolute sweat box!! We reported it to reception on at least 7 occasions where the reception said they would send someone to look at it, it became very apparent that the controller was not able to be controlled by the guests, but at the liberty of the hotel setting the temp without being able to alter it, the smell in the bathroom was reported as well, but this was nor rectified.
The restaurant meals were ok, picked from a set menu you could change it for lunch if you wanted.
Some of the staff are very rude, one in particular “William” and we were on the receiving end of it, purely and simply down to me not being able to drink the water served at mealtimes as it clearly contained a high mineral content, despite being offered an alternative one night this appeared to cause such a fuss the following night when “William” was very rude to us in front of other guests in the restaurant, despite speaking with management and a solution being sorted, his behaviour did not alter as was seen clearly during interactions with other guests, unfortunately management have fallen far short of managing someone who gets away from rudeness to guests!! Please h10 Management, tell your staff it’s rude to speak about other guests, the thing is people do understand Spanish! Some of the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for guests.
After we were shouted at it completely made our party of four not want to go to the restaurant we were left totally embarrassed and definitely spoiled my 60th birthday holiday, I couldn’t wait to get home and it wasn’t a cheap hotel
There was nowhere to sit at night if you wanted to get a drink unless you smoked and when people were eating their dinner it regularly travelled along to the dining areas.
The velvet Bar shut at 10.30pm but nobody ever served in the velvet bar as the bar was never in operation, bit of a waste of a space, background music on occasionally and never at night, it will be a bit boring for some people but we did like the quiet throughout the day but would have like to have seen a bit of life at night and given a space to meet new people, this appeared to be dissuaded by the hotel.
The good points, central location for everything and a lovely island to explore, shame not more positive things to say about the hotel and won’t return.
Highly expect the hotels standard response to this review, just brush it under the large pile of unresolved issues, H10 hotels apparently have high standards, this one falls far short and happy to discuss further should anyone at headquarters who feel they would like to."
