Grand Hotel Smeraldo Beach

"Great location and view from this hotel, the beach area is great with good access to the sea. The air con in the room worked really well. That is all the positives I can say. This is certainly not a 4 star hotel, 2 or maybe 3 The room - the bathroom is awful, its in big need of an urgent makeover, the water in the shower switches from hot to cold while you are trying to shower. I could not have a decent shower in the 9 nights I stayed for. One of the towels also had a hole in it The bed was so hard and the pillows were of low quality. Breakfast, it was discussing. The offering was extremely low quality, I hardly had anything to eat in my week long stay. I raised my feedback with Anna, one of the directors of the hotel who was great listening to my feedback and was able to provide a mattress topper to help with the hard mattress. I would avoid this hotel or stay for a short period of time"

"It was our third stay and loved it again. Our room was a garden room this time, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was plenty with a good choice of cooked and continental breakfast, buffet style. The beach is great and we love snorkelling at this spot. Easy walk to the centre and to bars and restaurants. The hotel is quiet , relaxing, super clean, perfect for recharging our batteries."

"Just returned from this lovely hotel. Rooms are a decent size with plenty of hanging space. There’s also a free safe and fridge. Decent bathroom and a lovely balcony. The room was cleaned to a good standard every day and towels changed daily even when hung up. Pool towels were left in the room but a 2 euro fee was charged if you wanted them changing Breakfast was very good. Both hot and cold items and plenty of ham, cheese, bread and pastries We stayed by the main pool as the sunbeds were better than around the other pools. However the plastic grating around the pool was filthy, full of dirt and mud. Never cleaned all the time we were there and old plasters and tab ends were not swept up around the pool for days. This was unacceptable especially as the rest of the hotel was spotless The resort centre was small with a limited number of restaurants. All overpriced with limited menus. We ended up eating at Foodie across from the hotel which was fantastic. Good menu with reasonable prices. The best food we ate all holiday. All in all we won’t be returning to Italy. Food and drink is vastly overpriced and not much variety"
