"We had a very pleasant stay overall, and there are definitely many things we loved about this hotel.
The hotel is small, clean, well-maintained and has plenty of staff who are generally very friendly, polite and helpful. Its location is a real advantage, right by the beach and close to some of the most beautiful beaches in Sithonia.
The hotel’s private beach is one of its biggest highlights. There are more than enough sun loungers, they are completely free of charge, and there is a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere without crowds or the feeling that you have to fight for a place. Beach towels are also available and are changed regularly, which is a great touch. The entrance into the sea is not the best, as there are some pebbles and a large rock slab, but once you get past that, it is perfectly fine.
The food was another positive surprise. Everything we tried was fresh and very tasty. The choice is not huge, but there is always pasta, fish, meat, salads and desserts, so there is something for everyone. The only thing I would suggest improving is the selection of fresh fruit at breakfast.
Our biggest issue was the room situation upon arrival. We arrived at around 11 a.m. and, as we were travelling with our five-year-old child, we understood that the room might not be ready immediately. We waited until around 5 p.m. and, while waiting, the staff kindly allowed us to order drinks to the hotel bill, which we appreciated.
However, when we finally received the room, it was not the room we had paid for. We had booked a spacious room for three people with a double bed and a proper single bed, but we were initially given a much smaller room with a double bed and a small, uncomfortable extra bed. The terrace was also so small that two people could barely sit there comfortably.
We immediately raised the issue that evening, but the manager was not available and we were asked to come back after breakfast the following morning. When I returned in the morning, I was initially told that the manager had not yet responded and that they would call me once she did. I had to ask why they couldn't simply call her. They then did so, and we were finally given the room we had originally booked, a room that, interestingly, we had already seen was ready when we arrived the previous day.
This part of the experience was honestly difficult to understand. We had paid for a specific type of room, and after waiting for several hours with a young child, we were given a room that clearly did not correspond to what we had booked. Thankfully, the issue was eventually resolved and the correct room was excellent: spacious, perfect for three people, with a comfortable double bed and a proper single bed, a large bathroom and a beautiful sea view. Once we moved into that room, we were completely satisfied.
There are no mosquito nets on the windows, but the hotel provides an electric mosquito repellent, which was helpful. Towels are changed frequently, and having beach towels available is definitely a plus.
One other thing worth mentioning is that food and drinks at the beach bar are quite expensive. For example, a beer costs €7 and a Margherita pizza €13, which we found rather high.
Despite the issue with the room on arrival, we enjoyed our stay. The staff, apart from the initial room situation, were consistently kind, smiling and very helpful, the hotel was clean and well organised, the food was delicious, and the private beach offered exactly the peaceful atmosphere we were looking for.
With better organisation regarding room allocation and a slightly more reasonable pricing policy at the beach bar, this could be an even better experience. Overall, we left with a positive impression."
