Campanile Marne-La-Vallée - Torcy

"I stayed at this hotel with my family from May 11 to 14. Initially we had booked the Kiryad hotel, then we were diverted here because the latter was closed for renovations. Apart from some initial misunderstandings (the room reservation and the relative payment could not be found, which was fortunately resolved later) and a structure outside the hotel completely burned down, I must say that we had a good time; the hotel did its job without infamy and without praise. Rooms and spaces fairly clean, staff all in all kind; it is not a 5-star hotel but it is not a terrible dive either. It is located in a strategic position, near shopping centers, Carrefour, pubs, and various shops, and near the train station, where you can reach Disneyland in just three train stops. It is about an hour and a half from Beauvais airport, but public transport is so punctual that it did not bother us at all. An experience I would repeat; we had a good time. I would recommend it."

"I stayed there for 2 nights. Upon my arrival, I was already looking for another hotel, but given the rates, I resigned myself to staying... the light didn't work well at all, I had to turn on the bedside lamps in addition to my cell phone flash, the desk lamp didn't work at all. No TV because it asked me to connect with my phone? It is indeed the first time I have seen that... hole in the bathroom door, sink cracked everywhere, nice line of limescale in the toilet, the fixed shower head was full of limescale, the handheld shower head could not be used alone... the faucet had to be on full blast for me to be able to engage the handheld shower head even a little... consequently, the water filled up completely and I ended up with water above my ankles! Fortunately, it was a bathtub... The cleaning also leaves a lot to be desired. Hair, and not just one, on the sheets and pillows! Even those that were in their packaging had hair! Under the beds, I won't even mention it... hello dust. In short, an experience I will not repeat and do not recommend at all. The night staff was very friendly, the day staff not at all... no smile, I almost felt embarrassed as if I were bothering them... For the price of over €100 a night, I think it is not worth it at all. There is a minimum to respect in terms of hygiene.... A few photos as proof... I didn't take pictures of everything, but it seemed important to take some anyway..."

"Arriving at 2pm for check-in, we were told our rooms were not ready. Reception attempted to call housekeeping and then claimed they were unavailable. This was difficult to believe given that the entire housekeeping team appeared to be gathered in the bar area just a short distance away, celebrating a birthday. Seeing staff socialising and drinking during the advertised check-in period, while guests are left waiting for rooms, is not a professional first impression for any hotel. Curiously, around 10 minutes later our rooms were suddenly ready. Unfortunately, things deteriorated from there. We had booked two rooms and neither had functioning air conditioning despite outside temperatures reaching 32°C. The rooms sat at approximately 26°C, feeling humid, stuffy and damp throughout the night. After struggling to sleep, I raised the issue with reception at 2am. The staff member appeared surprised, despite multiple recent reviews mentioning exactly the same problem. This suggests either a lack of communication within the hotel or a reluctance to acknowledge an ongoing issue. When I asked what could be done to compensate for the lack of a basic amenity that had significantly impacted our stay, I was offered complimentary breakfast. The following morning we were moved to rooms on a different floor where the air conditioning functioned, although even there it never became properly cold. The rooms themselves appear recently renovated but are disappointingly small, poorly lit and have an unpleasant lingering odour. The overall experience felt far closer to that of a budget roadside motel than a hotel deserving of a 3-star rating. The breakfast, charged at approximately €16 per person, was equally disappointing and represents extremely poor value for money. Coffee comes from a machine dispensing a syrup-based substitute rather than fresh coffee. The hot food selection was minimal and appeared to have been sitting out for an extended period. Beyond that there were only a couple of pastry options, some basic cold meats and yoghurt. It is difficult to justify the price when there are local cafés offering far better quality food and coffee for considerably less. Taken together, the poor organisation, non-functioning air conditioning, lacklustre rooms and overpriced breakfast made for a deeply disappointing stay. I would not return and would strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
