HVD Clubhotel Miramar

"We traditionally holiday in Spain, but really enjoyed our stay. First week of UK school hols. We were one of two English families at the hotel, and other than the hotel manager, English speaking was limited, but don’t let this put you off. We arrived at 11:00pm but were efficiently checked in. Given vague direction to our room but as we looked puzzle, the bell boy took us. We paid a smidge extra for side sea view room, I would suggest if you do this I would request a higher floor as ground floor and even 2nd (which we were on) sometimes had foliage blocking the view. Positives, very clean hotel, never had any issues with cleaning, towel changing or room. Air con seemed slow to kick out cold so we left it on when we went out and then turned it off when in room in the day. Pools, two very large pools, the main one was more interesting and landscaped, but also noiser on the days they played music. We preferred the rectangle pool, which was quieter and felt more spacious to swim in. Right on a lovely sandy beach with hotel loungers and a fridge with cold drinks just at the edge of the beach. Room was good, clean, everything worked. Mini bar and snacks restocked when they cleaned (we put no cleaning sign out every other day). I have never seen so many dinner options at an all inclusive hotel, really varied selection, catering to a wide variety of tastes. Husband is a bit picky and he ate loads every day. Even had fresh honeycomb at breakfast some days and had macarons for desert. Salad and donner meat (plus other things) available every day by the pool at lunch and we also ate alacarte in the restaurant at the top of the hotel with a great view over the grounds. Best part was the weekly beach party – great atmosphere, something unique. My little lad danced all night and it ended with a fire show. Oh and the price was very attractive compared to a SC holiday we had in Portugal the year before. Would definitely go back!!! Negatives – Dining hall a little dated feeling. Lack of English speaking staff (although I am not one who thinks everyone should speak English). We had a problem with our son knocking off half of his tooth on the first day there (as he is an idiot and chose to go down the water slide on his knees), and other than phone insurance at home, the conversation with the hotel was limited. They did mention the hotel doctor a few days after the event and the Manager spoke and understood English well so maybe we should have given them more credit."

"We are so excited that we discoveted this amazing hotel. Everything is great: the location, the beach, the pools, the restaurants. People are friendly and kind, they do all their best to make clients feel very good. The food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is the best. The animation( entertainment) team is absolutely amazing. We met the entire staff and we are very gratefull for this. They are all so friendly, funny and gentle. Many activities and competitions for adults and for kids so much fun - Magi, Svetlin, Didi, Ilyana, Andi, Deni, Svetlana you are doing a perfect job there. We love you guys.
