"We stayed at Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek from 28 March to 4 April. There were some genuinely excellent aspects to our stay, particularly the staff and the golf, but overall the experience did not meet what we would expect from a five-star resort.
We travel regularly and understand that hotels can be busy, but the level of overcrowding and the impact of conferences during our stay significantly affected the overall experience.
Staff-
The staff were consistently wonderful. The bar staff, waiting staff and housekeeping team were friendly, hardworking and professional. Despite the challenges the hotel appeared to be facing with large events, individual staff members always tried their best to provide good service. Housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy throughout our stay and were always pleasant.
Golf – the highlight of the trip
The highlight of the holiday was without question the golf at Cullinan Links Golf Club. The course itself was excellent and the staff there were welcoming and professional. The whole experience felt calm, organised and high quality.
Food and drink included during the golf were also excellent. In fact, it was the only time during our stay that we consistently received properly hot, freshly prepared food, which made a noticeable contrast to the buffet in the hotel.
Conferences dominating the hotel
Unfortunately the resort often felt more like a conference venue than a relaxing five-star resort.
On our first evening, after a late check-in, we discovered the hotel was hosting a large conference. The hotel is operating on a winter schedule so many restaurants and bars were closed, leaving only a few venues open and extremely busy. It was difficult to find seating and the atmosphere felt crowded and hectic.
We spoke with reception about our concerns and were reassured the conference would leave the following day, which it did.
However, later in the week another large expo 1500 plus people arrived, and the same problems returned immediately.
Buffet and dining experience -
The buffet was the most disappointing part of the stay. Breakfast and dinner became complete chaos once the conferences arrived.
Very long queues regularly formed at multiple food stations, often with 40–50 people waiting. Staff had to introduce a traffic-style queue management system to control the crowds. Guests were rushing between stations trying to find food that had not run out.
At both breakfast and dinner the dining room felt extremely busy and noisy, with large numbers of people queueing, waiting for food and struggling to find places to sit. Food trays frequently ran low or empty and when dishes were available they were often lukewarm rather than hot. After several days the buffet also became repetitive.
This was the same for the outdoor coffee area. No seating available.
Spa and facilities
The spa has potential, with an indoor pool and heated outdoor pool, but some facilities were not functioning during our stay. Had a sauna and steam room (broken).
The spa area also did not feel particularly relaxing due to the noise levels around the pool, with children playing loudly with inflatables. We had originally planned to have a massage but decided to cancel it, as the overall atmosphere around the spa and pool area did not feel calm or relaxing.
Room
On arrival we were told we had been upgraded, which was surprising given the condition of the room.
The air conditioning was not functioning properly. When set to cool, it would only produce warm air. I contacted guest services to request a repair, but was told the system could only provide hot air and that cold air was not available, and that we should simply open a window.
The well-meaning housekeeping team would turn on the air conditioning each day while servicing the room, likely thinking they were making it comfortable for our return from golf. Instead, we regularly returned to a room that had heated up to around 35°C, which was extremely uncomfortable. The room itself was clean thanks to the excellent housekeeping team, but overall it did not feel like a five-star standard.
Overall
There are clearly some very positive elements here — the staff are excellent and the golf experience at Cullinan Links Golf Club is superb. However, during our stay the hotel appeared overwhelmed by conferences, and because it was operating on a reduced winter schedule the facilities simply could not cope with the number of people. The result was overcrowded restaurants, very long queues for food at breakfast and dinner, limited seating and a generally noisy atmosphere.
For couples looking for a relaxing luxury resort whilst enjoying golf , this was not the experience we expected. The hotel seems heavily focused on conferences and large events, which had a clear impact on leisure guests during our stay.
Given the reputation and five-star rating of the resort, we expected a far more relaxed and well-managed dining and leisure experience.
Greater transparency about conferences and reduced winter services would help guests make a more informed decision before booking."
