"We stayed in a swim-up room on the adults-only side (fourth in from the end), very close to reception and the main lobby, which was a great location. The room itself was spacious, with a large flat-screen TV and good lighting. It included a kettle and minibar, although there was a surprising lack of drawer storage. The shower was a good size and very clean, and the towels were replaced when left on the floor.
Housekeeping, however, was a bit inconsistent. Tea and coffee supplies weren’t always replenished unless we asked, and basics like cups and spoons were sometimes missing. There’s no iron provided, so bring your own or be prepared to pay for laundry services. The advertised complimentary bathroom items weren’t as expected—they’re fixed refillable bottles on the wall, and ours (including the hand soap) weren’t consistently topped up. On the plus side, bottled water was provided daily, and the minibar was refilled regularly.
Overall, we had an enjoyable stay for the price we paid, but several areas need improvement for what is marketed as a 5-star hotel (especially at higher rates).
Service in the He & She Bar was mixed. Two of the younger male staff members stood out—they were excellent: attentive, polite, and professional. Unfortunately, when they weren’t working, the service could feel disorganised. Orders placed together often arrived at different times, sometimes cold, or occasionally didn’t arrive at all. Better coordination here would make a big difference. Food quality was decent overall, but inconsistent—particularly noticeable with repeated dishes like the salmon salad, which varied each time and didn’t always match what was advertised.
The main restaurant felt rushed in the evenings, with staff beginning to clear away right at 9 pm. While understandable, it would help if guests were advised to arrive earlier (e.g. by 8:30 pm), or alternatively, extend service properly until 9:30 pm. Booking the à la carte restaurants was also quite difficult, and it seemed that only one main option was truly operating rather than the multiple choices advertised (possibly due to being early in the season, but still misleading).
The gym was well-equipped, but an 8am opening time is quite late—especially as it’s unsupervised and could easily open earlier for early risers.
If you choose a swim-up room on the adults-only side, be aware that the sun moves off the terrace quite early (around 2:30 pm in May). Noise can also be an issue, particularly from neighbouring guests playing music outside. Nightclub noise can be heard into the early hours (until around 2am), although this didn’t bother us too much as we were often out late anyway.
Entertainment during our stay was underwhelming, likely due to the early season. The visiting acts (acrobatics, singers, dancers) were very good, but outside of these there wasn’t much to watch, and limited alternative entertainment around the resort. The bar in the entertainment area felt quite basic and not especially inviting in the evening. Despite its size, there were queues, which suggests it could struggle in peak season. There is also an upstairs section, but this was closed during our stay.
On the positive side, there’s a lot to like about this hotel. The 24-hour bar is a great feature, and the overall layout of the hotel is well designed. The swim-up rooms and adults-only areas are excellent, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The main restaurant offers a good variety of food, with plenty available throughout the day, including late-night snacks (served from midnight through to early morning near the à la carte area).
The beach and beach bar were also great, with a good selection of food (kebabs, burgers, salads) and drinks, though not as extensive as the main bars. The shuttle service to the beach (every 30 mins) is convenient, though it may be busier in peak season.
Drink quality across the hotel was very good, although a wider gin selection would be a welcome addition. The gym was well-equipped (could open earlier as not supervised, so a 6 am open time rather than 8am for us early risers), the Starbucks café is a nice touch, and the He & She Bar is a great place to relax when service is running smoothly.
The spa deserves a special mention for one member of staff. The reception area is nicely presented, but the treatment rooms feel a bit basic, and the towels smelled damp, and the music is a bit annoying. Unfortunately, my first massage experience was very poor and inappropriate (massaging of areas not permitted to be massaged by a male member of staff), and I did raise this with hotel management. To their credit, the hotel and spa manager were very apologetic, the therapist was dismissed, and I received a refund. However, the initial handling of the complaint by the Spa sales staff could have been more supportive. My second treatment, with Merve Nur, was excellent, professional, attentive, and genuinely relaxing. If you visit the spa, I would highly recommend requesting her and NOT a male!!!!
Overall, we had a good stay with plenty of positives, but improvements in consistency, organisation, and communication would really help bring the experience up to a true 5-star standard."
